About this property
Apartment 'Molchner Stollen' with Mountain View and Wi-Fi
The mine house, also known as the "Zechenstübel", is the central administrative building of a mine.
Huthaus was originally the name for a guardhouse and in mines for a building in which the miners prayed and stored their tools. The term "Huthaus" is derived from the mine supervisor known as the "Hutmann". It was an administration building, material store, gear room, workshop and dwelling all in one.
It was first mentioned in 1529 as the "Huthaus des Molchner Stolln". It has been used as a restaurant since 1934.
The "Molchner Stolln" show mine has been one of the oldest and most beautiful in the Ore Mountains since 1934. Silver, tin, copper and iron have been mined in the Molchner Stolln since 1491.
The inn is set in a historic house built in 1512, offering a unique stay near attractions such as the Molchner Mine Tunnel, the Katzenstein Rock Area, the Black Pockau River, the traditional craft village of Seiffen, the historic mining town of Marienberg, and Oberwiesenthal, Germany’s highest town known for skiing.
