The birchy is a very nice modern facility that gives you great access to downtown Marquette and the surrounding area. The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The ice machine was very helpful. I loved having Thimbleberry bushes in the parking lot. That made my day. The bikes that they had available were very nice although I was very nervous. Crossing the very busy highway that is in the front yard. Overall, I give the facility two thumbs up. We will be back.

A place to stay if you didn't want to sleep in you

Did not like the traffic noise in front of the hotel. In the back of the hotel, there was a lot of gun firing noise. We were a little worry about where the bullets were going to land. You did-not want to cross the road due to a lot of traffic.

Water view doesn't always = balcony.

Although communication is done all on line and via text, The Birchy group does a fabulous job communicating. I was in town for a baby shower and visiting family. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because of the ability to sit outside on my balcony with a Lake Superior view. Perhaps I missed something, but it looked like all rooms facing the water had a balcony. What I did not realize is while I had a water view, there was a second building that I was unaware of that had no type of balcony/patio. Was so disappointed.

Interesting apartment/hotel with lake views and outdoor lounge seating. Clean, all “smart” — check in, text-based reception desk, windows, etc…

Nice updated motel

Cute mostly updated motel across the street from Lake Superior on bike path. Bikes and sports equipment available for use. Very clean and nice area backs to woods.

It takes too many emails and texts to check in and out. There is no human contact in the process. A major highway is between rooms and the lake. On the plus side, the rooms are large and comfortable.

Cute, convenient, affordable

We will definitely be back, the room was great and the amenities were exactly what we needed. Thoughtful modern upgrades were much appreciated. Hopefully they can upgrade the AC to a more efficient system in the future but otherwise 10/10.

Wonderful One-Night Stay

Stayed for the night and it was very nice. We loved the modern accommodations this room had to offer! These accommodations included automatic blackout shades and the perfect light up makeup mirror. You could tell the room had been updated within the last couple years. The hotel is so close/easy to get to Marquette! Also the view of Lake Superior was spectacular. My only complaints are: the air conditioner smelled of mildew and the king bed was not very comfortable. We would have liked to have had king pillows instead of your regular standard ones. Otherwise we would definitely stay here again!
