We booked the King 1 bedroom suite. The suite was as we had expected: large and spacious with ample space to stretch out and lounge with friends. The aesthetic was simple, contemporary, and attractive as depicted in photos.
We loved the proximity to the Metro Silver Line, making it very easy to get to the hotel. For convenience, there is a Wegmans on the ground floor.
We liked having both the kitchen area and the living room area as seating options. We were, however, disappointed to learn that the kitchen came with no plates, mugs, cups, silverware, etc. despite ample cabinets and drawers. (We were not surprised by this having contacted the hotel to ask in advance.)
As a very new hotel, the bedroom and bathroom were also up to modern standards. However, we did notice that the HVAC was a bit slow to adjust the temperature, perhaps due to the size of the room. In addition, as other reviews have pointed out, the HVAC is loud and can’t be turned off even if you like the ambient temperature, so be prepared for a constant hum.
Breakfast was decent with pretty good coffee, eggs, fresh fruit, and other standard hotel breakfast buffet fare. However, for a weekend morning, we were surprised that not all the buffet areas were stocked, since we felt the breakfast buffet could have used a bit more variety.
Overall, a good stay and a very appealing hotel if you’re looking for a new, modern, all suites hotel in McLean with easy access to Capital One and the Metro Silver Line.
