This hotel is right next to the airport but is in the middle of no where within walking distance. The immediate hotel surroundings are quite desolated. I was NOT allowed to accumulate points on my IHG account because I made my reservation on Expedia.

We were told that if we signed up for the Crowne Plaza rewards program that we would be given preference for early check-in. So, I signed up. We arrived early hoping that we might receive early check in, but instead, we were not able to check in until 4 PM, a full hour after the check-in time. On top of this, the staff did not clearly communicate to us when we would actually be able to check in, and they offered no consolation for the delay. Since we arrived early, it took about three hours before we were actually able to go to our room. We were also traveling with two young kids (ages 5 and 7 years old). The instructions about the airport shuttle were also very unclear. We received an e-mail through Travelocity from the hotel that seemed to suggest the shuttle would leave at 25 minutes after the hour. Instead, the shuttle leaves on the hour. This was not clearly stated in the e-mail, and the staff did not clearly state this either until 5:15 AM the next morning when we were hoping to catch the shuttle to PTY. As a result, we had to take a taxi (which at least they readily had one available). Of course, that was supposed to cost $10. But the taxi driver had no change for the $20 bill I gave him. Good stuff. Other fun problems: the ceiling was not very insulated so we could hear people moving furniture around above us. The TV had cable but no possibility of digital content access, which would have been nice for our kids. There were not enough towels even though our reservation

The hotel service was excellent, except for one thing. We asked for a wake-up call at 4:30 am , did not get one. Good thing we set alarm or would have missed flight. however the restaurant and bar service was wanting….I ordered a club sandwich, from the restaurant. The meat in it was very dried out, l could not eat it but small parts of sandwich. it was leathery, the lettuce was wilted, took over 1/2 hour to be served. At the bar I ordered a chicken empanada. Probably the worst I ever had in panama, there was only a 1/2 inch price of chicken in it, with very thick dough. Could not eat more than one bite., the food alone would make me consider another hotel on our next visit.
