Our stay in Milan

The hotel is beautiful and a big room for us to stay. We enjoyed very much. Except, I would like to have at least two bottle of free water and English TV channels because other hotels in Italy all offer them. Otherwise, it is in a good location to the train station and convenient to walk to the downtown.

No frills, but comfortable and great value for money. The staff were friendly and I was able to store my luggage before check-in and after check-out. Despite my room being on the ground floor and the hotel being in a busy district, I didn't have any problems with noise during the night. The only problems I had were with the bathroom, which could have been better maintained and had its fan running all the time.

Awesome days in Milano at the Spice Hotel

This is the second time I come to this hotel and it was great. The breakfast was one of the best I had in Europe and the room was very comfortable.

The room was dark, as the lights are insufficient. But the main issue was the bathroom. It was damp and smelly. There was no toilet paper holder, no towel holder, and no light above the mirror. Judging by the low sink, the support handles and the big door it looked like it was an accessible bathroom, however there was no way a person in a wheelchair could go around the room or enter the bathroom. And even though the room was on the ground floor, there were still a few steps to get to the room.

I really enjoyed this hotel. It was in walking distance to great shops and restaurants. The staff was very helpful when i needed a rain jacket for the unexpected rainy days. The shower in the room was the absolute best.

Spice hotel is very close to the Milano Centrale train station so it was very convenient location wise for us as we were spending two nights before catching the train. Staff were helpful and professional the breakfast was great the room was ok the major two problems were that we were on the ground floor so there was a ton of noise from staff and the street at night so its not that quiet you can hear a lot of noises. The bed was comfortable but we were not a fan of the design of the room the concrete walls are strange and its quite dark not the best lighting my husband said it looks like a prison cell. The design of the shower in the bathroom is terrible they need to change it there is no depth to the shower floor it is flat against the floor and nothing but a curtain to prevent water from getting on to the floor you will make a mess every time you take a shower as others have commented. It is a decent hotel but if i had to chose again id go elsewhere.

The air conditioning in room 403 was not working properly, even after a maintenance technician attended. The temperature would not go below 22°C, so it felt more like a fan than an A/C. The double bed was supplied with only two pillows and no extra pillows or duvet. The shower curtain was dirty. Additionally, there was no kettle or coffee provided in the room. Breakfast it was ok!

The hotel is located very close to the central train station making access to the trains, metro and trams very easy. Our room was good nothing fancy but clean the bed was comfortable. There is one issue I must mention, it was the bathroom. The toilet seat had several cracks in it, the shower pan is a smooth white plastic that gets very slippery when wet and soapy. There was a string hanging down the wall of the shower pulling it we discovered is an alarm to the front desk apparently in case you slip in the shower. That cannot be a mitigation measure for an obvious safety hazard. On the third night of our stay there was a foul odour that came into the room we called the front desk and they sent someone. He did something to the shower drain and it seemed to subside. However on our last evening the odour returned we made a report again. The room was 406 I don’t know if only this room has issue but the hotel seems to be aware that there is a problem. Guest should not have to endure that.
