Eagle Harbor's Hilltop Cottage

Located next door to the House on the Hill, the Hilltop Cottage is perfect for couples looking for a peaceful place to relax in Eagle Harbor, Michigan.The Hilltop Cottage is one of very few year-round cabin rentals in the area. The cottage, perched high on the lighthouse ridge overlooking the harbor, is only a short walk to the beach. Step onto the front porch and soak in the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and sparkling harbor waters.

HILLTOP COTTAGE
A small, private cottage including one bedroom with a queen bed, a cozy living area, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and quaint front porch. This cottage is ideal for a couple, but a child could be accommodated on the pull-out futon couch in living area, if needed. No pets please.

Fall Colors - USA Today has reported the Keweenaw is one of the best places in the United States to see fall colors. Fall colors are best late September thru mid-October. Sit on the cottage porch and enjoy the colors.

Historical Adventures
Keweenaw National Historic Park - Copper has shaped the people and places on the Keweenaw Peninsula for thousands of years. In the 1840s, the first mineral mining rush in the US took place here. Although the mines have since closed, the history lives on. Visit website:
Eagle Harbor Lighthouse - Built in 1851 to provide navigational assistance for the increased traffic on Lake Superior due to the copper boom in the area. The lighthouse provides guided tours May-September.

My time at this lovely yellow cottage was exactly what I was hoping for - a clean well-equipped refuge with a great view and beautiful surroundings, inside and out. Communication with my host Rodney (who was not on-site) was clear regarding directions to the cottage, check-in, and check-out. There were a great kitchen set-up and no lack of supplies. Per Rodney's warning, cell-phone connectivity was unreliable (in my case totally unavailable). I enjoyed the unplugged experience, but it's important to be aware that you may be without service when in the cottage.Rodney has created a very pleasant environment for his guests, and I would love to stay in the Hilltop Cottage again if I ever return to the Keweenaw.

The Yellow cottage is complete and ready to go. There is everything you need to Cook meals, work on puzzles, sit on the deck and read or just enjoy a spectacular view of the harbor. Its close to the beach and thats where i spent a good share of my time. its a short drive to Copper Harbor. Mt.Baldy is great place to hike and the trailhead is right up the road. Less than 10 min.s Good place to go if you want to relax. It is quiet and peaceful;l

Beautiful and relaxing get away

We appreciated how nice, clean and comfortable everything was. We fully enjoyed touring the harbor, the Quincy copper mine, and hiking several local trails. We were fortunate to hit the peak of the fall colors, and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous!

Good central location

This property was located within easy drive of points of interest in Calumet and Hancock, plus Copper harbor and points east of CH including the Keweenaw Rocket Range. The small kitchen was convenient for easy meal preparation. At one point, I lost the key for a period before I located it again. The owner was able to provide me with the spare while I located the lost key. The owner was very responsive and saved the day!

Very cute cottage, just right for the two of us to relax, and enjoy the area. It did have a musty smell, which wasn’t too bad after we had bought air freshener spray and some scented candles. Otherwise great area, would like to come back and explore the area more.

Thank you Rodney for the prompt responses to my questions. We enjoyed exploring the area.

The place was clean & cozy. Unfortunately, the area by the porch stairs are an accident waiting to happen. Maybe you should consider moving stairs to the side towards the parking. Fix broken windows and window shade for the door. Last thing, the frying pans need to be replaced. We brought one at the dollar store to use. Sorry for the negative response. I hope it improves your rental. Sept 22/25 2024

Perfect little cabin

This cabin is in a great location, right next to The Great Gitchee Gumee and between Copper Harbor and Calumet. A perfect location. Eagle Harbor is a quaint little town with opportunities to fish, be at the beach, walk, shop, and eat. Rodney was very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. There IS internet access. We were able to connect and stream on our devices.

Great location! The lighthouse and beach are within walking distance. The beach has fire pits if you want to have a fire. The house was perfect for two people! We would definitely come back!

Week of remote work and play

We rented this place for a week. Our plan was to work in the morning and explore in the afternoon WiFi is so so in Eagle Harbor but communication with the owner ahead of time helped get us set up. Eagle harbor was quiet and beautiful! We did holes, biking and kayaking in the Keweenaw Peninsula. House was perfect for our needs! Owner was great

A Trip in Time with Modern Amenities

A very Cozy and Comfortable Cabin in Eagle Harbor You can hear the waves from Lake Superior from the cabin You have to be ready to go without TV and that is a plus for us. A wonderful place to Rest and Relax from the world. The Furniture was very Comfortable, The kitchen was well equipped, The Bathroom was modern with a Vintage look. A wonderful trip back to Grandpa's Cabin that Grandma takes care of 5 STARS all the way

Cozy and great location

The cottage is cozy and has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved sipping our morning coffee on the front porch overlooking Eagle Harbor. Just a few steps away is the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, which is a great place to see the stars. We even caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights! The 6.3 mile hike up Mt Baldy is close by and worth the effort! We hope to come back!

Wonderful Getaway
