The best thing its all private just for travelers and us! It has a very nice BBQ area with swings which can be used as much as people want! We enjoy meetting new cultures and hope people that come and visit enjoy our town and culture love it as much as we do.

Great stay!!

Star House was amazing. The location was great, the view was incredible, the house and amenities were wonderful, we’d definitely come back and recommend to anyone traveling in the Monteverde area.

Great getaway!

A very comfortable, well-furnished house with wonderful views, privacy, and lots of animal neighbors. We saw monkeys, coatis, agoutis and many birds. It is in a good location for nearby parks, shopping, and restaurants. It is also perfect for just hanging out and relaxing on the back porch. If you shop on your way to the house, it is advised to buy your condiments as there were none in the kitchen left over from previous tenants as can often be the case. The host was easy to reach and helpful with any questions. Highly recommended, and we would stay there again! Just a note if you are driving to Monteverde from SJO - it takes about four hours due to heavy traffic on hwy 1 and lots of deep potholes on hwy 606 that slowed us down. We did not need four wheel drive, but a vehicle with good suspension is advised.

Amazing View!

We loved our two week stay at the Star House. The property is lovely and the view from the porch is amazing. We saw rainbows almost every day! Zabrina is very responsive and easy to work with. We could not have asked for more.

Not The Coffee View House

The listing for this property is called The Coffee View House. We drove around for over an hour trying to find the place. We asked taxi drivers and stopped locals asking for The Coffee view House. Nowhere in the check in instructions does it mention a sign for The Star House. We tried calling Zabrina dozens of times to get directions and her phone went directly to VM By luck we found the place and knew it was the right house because we recognized the picture hanging in the front bedroom from the photos posted. Also we had to call another number to get the wifi password because it is not starhouse as listed on the instructions on the counter. That is when we learned Zabrina was in the States and why she did not answer our calls. I recommend that if the contact person is not available that the information for the other contact person be provided before we get to the house. After we finally found the place it was wonderful. Exactly as advertised (except the name). We would go back to The Star House again.

Star House Review Monteverde Feb 1-25 2020 5/5

My wife and I spent 25 days in this very comfy home with a great view as we leisurely explored Monteverde. We cooked some nice meals in the kitchen, it was nice to have sharp knives and a good skillet to work with. Zabrina was great to deal with spoke very good english gave good advice. She even called our local cell phone service provider and got our phone working. Note Claro does not work very well in Monteverde. When I complained about the coffee maker and lack of a toaster both appeared the next day. We enjoyed a couple of nature walks behind the house. We looked forward to morning rainbows and evening sunsets every day. We had to adjust to the cool mornings and very warm afternoons by closing the windows 30 min before sunset to retain some heat for the evening. The Bathroom was recently redone and it was clean and beautiful. The house was spotless when we arrived. We highly recommend renting this private house.

Beautiful property and Amazing views!

This is a gem of a property. Views from the house is amazing. House itself is clean and well maintained. Zabrina, the owner, is very responsive to needs and communicates well. My entire family enjoyed the stay and the house enhanced our Monteverde experience. I would rent it again if I ever am in the area and if it is available.
