The key issue with this establishment is the huge gap between its online presence and its actual situation.
For starters, the name "La Maison du Mile-End is nowhere to be seen. On the door it says "Bernard B&B."
After booking, I spoke with someone at the establishment who assured me that I would not need a smartphone to check in. As requested I called in again the day before we left when I was again assured that someone would be there mid-morning.
Later that day I received an email with a link to a portal. It enabled me to order breakfast.
When we arrived as planned, we could not access the premises as it required a code. We were not given a code and there was no mention of a code during our two telephone conversations. After much effort and help from a stranger, finally someone showed up who accepted our luggage for safekeeping. We said we would be back around 8 pm and were assured that someone would be there -- we just had to ring the doorbell. Again, no mention of a code.
Upon arrival in the evening, after endless ringing of the doorbell, someone showed up from outside. When I vented my frustration, he said I better stop talking or he would walk away and not help us; I said not another word.
This comment has a 1500-word limit. I have much more to say and will find another way to continue.
Bottom line: This establishment should be banned from Expedia's list. It does not deserve to be in business.
