Great central location to all sites- provided us an upgrade and early check in which was amazingly helpful- room was clean, modern, spacious- the pool area was phenomenal! I took my daughter for an Amtrak train ride to Montreal from NYC to watch the changing color leaves on a 3 days weekend. We booked this hotel because it looks great, great reviews and right across the street from the Amtrak station. You do need to know a little French to make things a bit easier but it's not necessary. The check-in/reception is on the 10th floor. We had to look closely and ask before we found it. I wished the lobby reception said something as we walked in. There are signs in English and French by the elevators. There are no complimentary bottle water in the room. The shampoo and conditioner are the small travel size. In the past few years that I have travel, I call to confirm they have the larger refillable bottles and they all do have the big refillable bottles. I didn't call this hotel and assumed it was the same as the other hotels, like a norm to have refillable bottles. My daughter and I have long hair so it was obviously not enogh for both of us. I could go ask for more but we decided to go to the pharmacy nearby to get a full size shampoo because we didn't bring any. We only had 1 full day in Montreal so time was precious. We did enjoy the breakfast and the staff there were great. It was 2 mornings, 2 different staffs and 2 totally different personalities. Thumbs up! We booked this trip last minute thru expedia and got there late. We had no idea what was outside the window until next morning...hydrangea flowers...I was overwhelmed.

The room was comfortable and the pool is so nice, but it was extremely loud. People shouting and loud music coming from the halls and from the rooms next door until 2-3 am the both nights I stayed there. I called down but there was no answer at reception.

We loved our stay at Hotel Bonaventure. Great views from our room. Easy to get around - walking or metro or using the ‘underground city’ routes. The Executive Suite breakfast room server, Guy, was a breath of fresh air- jolly, entertaining with his humour and his singing and greatly accommodating. We’d come back just to visit him- thank you!

We love this hotel and stay here every trip. Our son is at McGill so we travel to Montreal frequently. We love the rooftop heated pool and hot tub, that’s open year round. Rooms are always clean and comfy too.

The art in the hotel is a highlight. However, it is not at all accessible if you have challenges with mobility or difficulty finding your way. There are never ending sets of small staircases and hallways, with no predictable numbering system. Some hotel staff were wonderful and others seemed to do the bare minimum.

From arrival to departure, and every aspect of our stay, everything was wonderful. The service was exceptional, the rooms were immaculate, and the beds were comfortable.
