Even with construction going on, the property was quiet and nice. There isn't enough parking. I am handicap and had to walk a fair distance from parking to our room because all the up front parking was always taken. No designated handicap parking.

2nd visit was better.

This was the 2nd time we stayed at the Hotel Viking and we enjoyed this time better. Previously we were "upgraded" to the cabins on the property but felt more comfortable this time in the main building. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is a bit of a drive from the main downtown area of Reykjavik....but was no problem if you have a car.

For the price, a decent place to stay.

We were upgraded to one of the cottages by chance. It was cold in the room and overall it was ok. We had stayed also in the main hotel portion on our return to Reykjavik and enjoyed staying in the mail hotel more. Breakfast was typical for Icelandic hotels....but good. The room cost was reasonable, but you are located outside of the main area. This was ok for us since we were renting a car.

Friendly staff. Clean premises. Rooms are extremely small...had to play tetris to fit the suitcases in the room and close the door. No room to walk around in room. Breakfast was good but limited options.

A lovely quirky hotel which was close to a bus stop.Staff were friendly and helpful. We booked trips through Reykjavik Excursions, who for a small additional fee, picked up and dropped off at the hotel. A very pleasant stay.

Adequate enough for a night

This hotel is adequate for a quick one night stay. Nothing special….small clean room. Thin towels in the bathroom which show their age. Overall I would return for one night if I needed a place to rest my head.

The hotel is decent, but the rooms are quite small and have an unpleasant smell. The staff is not particularly welcoming—they are polite but not warm or friendly. Overall, it’s an acceptable stay, but I expected a bit more hospitality.
