There was a wedding on the night we stayed so was very busy and staff were too busy attending to them. We felt a little in the way. Our stay was good enough for what we needed, room was small but comfy, our bathroom was in need of an update as very little room to place anything, shower was nice and powerful. Breakfast was freshly prepared but not a true Scottish breakfast as not loin square sausage. Would stay again though if in that area as convenient to train station and restaurants.

Of all the hotels I have ever stayed in, this one has the friendliest, and the kindest staff I have encountered!! I cannot say enough good things about them! They were all wonderful!! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!!

Fantastic place

I've stayed here a few times now and I really can't fault it. It's convenient for the train, only 5 minutes walk to the station, the hotel has a friendly welcoming feel, the rooms are a good size and the beds are very comfortable.

Brilliant !

Very enjoyable stay. Food excellent and my room perfect . You could see the staff take great pride in doing their job . Often hardworking but still a smile . Particular praise to Anna , Lindsay and Elaine . Professional , efficient and friendly. Would I recommend The Moorings -definitely. Would I stay there again- most definitely!

Good value, clean, and with staff who take pride

Great place to stay and location. Room was quite stuffy and dark due to small windows. Could also hear a bit of noise (maybe from the bar) late on. Staff were fab and very friendly and helpful. Cooked breakfast was great and liked the pre-booking system so it was served promptly. Would stay again, but would ask for a different room type

I'm working in Motherwell - and this hotel is simply a perfect business hotel. The rooms are really nice - quiet, well designed, and look great. Great food in the bar. And a good quality and efficient breakfast service for those escaping early. Thank you!
