We were in Muncie for a Ball State University dinner and meeting. I had my 85 year old mother with me and needed an accessible room. I booked here based on the availability of the accessible room and the room decor. It was blues and grays. I looked at other rooms in the area and at least one was down right ugly and another had an orange wall, which my mother would have hated. She DID comment on how the room was soothing (blues and grays), I told her picked this room specifically because I thought she would approve.

Clean new hotel with Cold Showers in the morning.

Brand new hotel. Very nice. I base my stay on the quality of the shower in the morning. My shower was cold. I had a conversation with someone in the elevator who had been there two nights and he said both mornings his showers were cold. Unacceptable for a brand new hotel.

Better than reviews imply

There are not a lot of great hotel options in Muncie especially when BSU has an event. This is our second time staying here in just over a month and my wife and I are both happy with it. It's new, clean, comfortable, and convenient. The breakfast was very fresh and the staff was friendly. I think some of the reviews on here are a little rough but to each their own. We will definitely be staying here many times over the next four years. Chirp Chirp!!

Dogs are not allow

I cannot actually rate the hotel. We booked it last minute through hotels.com it showed online that dogs were welcome with a fee. We showed up and we refuse serviced. Animals are not allowed. The front desk people were open about the fact that they know that it is incorrect on multiple third-party sites. But it didn’t matter cause they still don’t allow dogs no matter what it said online. They were not rude, but also there’s nothing they could do. Had to drive 30 minutes farther in the wrong direction to find a dog friendly hotel.

Four couples had confirmed reservations and three of them had their rooms canceled because of overbooking by the motel. Their reservations were made at least a week before check in date. I've been a member for quit a long time but will not be using your company in the future. Inexcusable service.

Sorry to say our reservation was canceled by Holliday Inn do to (as we were told) over booking. We were called as we were pulling up to the facility. While talking to the representative, he said we could go to the Hampton Inn just down the road they had availability. When we got to Hampton Inn they had no rooms available.

This is a brand new HI and very modern and clean. There are a few bugs to be fixed. The plumbing in the bathroom is very noisy and water going through the pipes from other rooms is loud. It also has a strange smell coming from the drain in the floor. The exercise room is awesome. 3 treadmill, 2 elliptical, weights, bike and plenty of space. the hotel was overbooked when we checked in and we almost lost our room which was booked ahead for two nights. Luckily the front desk person found us a room. I’m sure someone else lost out. Only other issue was no room service for towels and trash. We were glad to move out after two nights because the trash was piling up and there were no clean towels.

Staff and breakfast were great. However, sleep was poor for my son and I. The problem was the extremely strong chemical smell in the room. It turned out to be Febreze plug-in that a staff member indicated are hidden in the room. Both my son and I have asthma and I'm allergic to fragrance. My son was coughing and restless until I dug out an inhaler around 12:30 a.m.. I also used it. I searched the room when I suspected Febreze but couldn't find anything. I assumed it was something sprayed in the room. In the morning, after only a few hours of sleep I asked the person at the front desk and mentioned I thought it was Febreze. They indicated yes it was and that they hide the plug ins behind furniture. They also said we could have come down and asked for a different room. I don't quite understand how that would have helped because I would assume they do this to every room. In the future I'll be calling all hotels ahead of time to check on whether they do this.

Worst hotel experience ever. We have used Holiday inn numerous times, but will never use them again. We had a confirmed reservation with the Holiday Inn Express in Muncie, IN.booked through Expedia. First problem, the address was wrong, so our GPS took us to what turned out to be their old building and location (why wasn't that info updated on their website?). Second problem we had carefully read their conditions as we have two dogs and needed a pet friendly hotel, which is why we chose them. The young woman at the desk could on repeat the corporate line, which is that each HI was a separate entity and had their own rules and regulations. The new management would not accept any pets. After much discussion (we were put in contact with the supposed manager) it became clear we were at an impasse. We had traveled 11 hours and it was still a 4 hour drive to my mom's house, which we did, arriving at midnight. The desk clerk said we should receive an email and refund. Neither has happened and it's more than a week since our reservation on 07/22. You'd have thought the staff or desk clerk, somebody, might have offered to see if there was a pet friendly hotel nearby, either in Muncie or up the road, but nothing was said. We are both seniors, over 65 and don't like driving at night. Oh well!

Staff was great and property is new. Our toliet had a running issue and took about an hour to repair. The pool was not up and running yet, which was disappointing but not a huge deal. Convenient to everything we needed to get to. We would stay here again.
