Don’t stay here….outdated, dirty and poor overall

The only true positive thing about this hotel was quick response in need of a hair dryer (our room did not have one) and it was pretty quiet which good with newborn. The room was outdated and what looks like in the tiles of the bathroom. No sponge to wash the dishes, apparently they do not clean the rooms during your stay which is not great when you stay beach front….apparently when I reserved ocean front that meant “side view ocean view” not actual ocean front….when I told the up front people they offered to help me find another hotel (trying to get us out of hotel rather than helping us) and I was like absolutely not with a new born…overall we will not be coming back to this hotel.

We Had A Wonderful Time

Check in did not take long at all. The location was excellent. There was a convenience store diagonal across the street. Restaurants and activities were everywhere. The room was clean. The bathroom was clean. Washer and dryer was in the room. The Spa’s were great. This is definitely a good place to bring a family. We enjoyed everyday here. It also has better reviews on Google than most resorts in the area. We could have just stayed here the whole time instead of exploring. The beach area was clean.

We stayed at Bay View Resort in Myrtle Beach for 4 days, and while the location right on the beach is definitely a plus, the experience overall left a lot to be desired. First, the cleanliness of the pools was disappointing. Some of the pools, especially the indoor ones, didn’t appear to be well-maintained. Also, while they advertise 6 different pools—which include a lazy river, toddler pool, hot tubs, and regular pools—only a few were actually enjoyable due to cleanliness and crowding. One of the biggest issues we faced was the paper-thin walls. Whatever happened in the next room, we could hear—unfortunately, we had very noisy neighbors and barely got any sleep during our stay. We also encountered a plumbing problem in one of our rooms. Although maintenance was sent promptly, the plumber couldn't resolve the issue and we had to wait a whole day for a technician to finally fix it. In our second room, we requested towels multiple times (4-5 times to be exact), and only received fresh ones on Day 3—not ideal when staying in a resort by the beach where showers are frequent. Another major issue: the elevators. For such a large resort, only 4 elevators are available, and they are extremely slow. We often had to wait 10 minutes or more just to find one with enough space to get on. Overall, while the location is great, the service and room quality were not up to standard. For the price and the promise of a beachfront resort, we expected a lot more comfort and responsiveness.

Overall, it was terrible experience. Property is not well maintained. Elevators operations are extremely poor. Sometimes, we had a wait time of around 15 mins to get down from the 16th floor. Pool was lack of cleanliness. The location of this property was the only thing I like.
