Disappointed

I booked this hotel for the main reason that it boasted a heated outdoor pool. Hence I was very disappointed to find that the pill was closed for maintenance during my stay. I requested a quiet room but was disturbed all night by traffic noise and music. Service in the bar was very slow. I tried to contact the hotel management during my stay but received no response. Fur the price paid I had expected a much better experience.

Exceptional service - Handicap friendly

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in June. The service was exceptional and we absolutely loved the beauty of the facility. We stayed in one of the suites which was one of the nicest we have stayed in. I can't say enough about the service we received. A special mention to Roy, the hotel manager. Every day when he would see us, he would stop and ask if we needed anything. My wife is a big fan of Dr Pepper, which is a popular soft drink in America, but we are rarely able to find it anywhere else in the world. He went to the effort of checking around Nairobi and found a store that carried it. He sent a driver to pick up several cans for her! My wife is somewhat handicapped, as she is on oxygen and uses a wheelchair on vacation since she is not able to walk long distances. When we were about to leave to go to the airport, Phillip, one of the office managers said he would take us. Since my wife was in a wheelchair, he knew how very difficult the traffic was inside the airport terminal area at that time of night. We never would have made it on our own if we had simply taken a taxi or Uber. We would give this hotel a 6 star review if we could!!

Wrote email to manager, never responded. Pool freezing cold, heated only on weekends, nothing for children to do at hotel. We booked 3 family rooms, with king size beds and trundle but my son got a room with queen bed and was told they world roll in a bed for his daughters and told him it was a family room. Also the second time we checked in they had red mud spread all over the only green grass area the kids could play on and they didn’t have it taped off or have any signs posted, so the kids got red mud all over their shoes and clothes. Also, we heard loud music in all 3 rooms starting at 10 until 6-6 in the morning from club on the side of the hotel. This was with our windows closed.

I had book 3 family rooms for my family of 9, we arrived the day after our original check in due to flight delay, we still had to pay for the 3 Rooms for the night we didn’t use them, even though we contacted the reservation dear and informed them. I booked the hotel because it has a children’s pool, our four children were unable to use it because it was too cold even though they advertised heated pool. We were told by the manager that the pool is heated only on the weekend. We were unable to use it. Also, they had spread a mound of red dirt all over the grass, the only area our children could play, and they got red dirt all over their shoes and clothes, they didn’t have any signs or tape around the grass. Also my son and his children were given a regular room, with only one queen size bed, it was supposed to be a family room and they told him they would roll in a bed for the kids. It was supposed to be king size bed with trundle. A family room. The manager kept on insisting that they gave us family rooms. Also, we could hear loud music all night staring around 10 until 5 in the morning in all three of our rooms because there is club right across from where our room were located. My daughter had to use a wash cloth to clean the red mud off her daughters and the hotel charged me 1500 sch for the 6x6 wash cloth. After our Safari our son was put into a room that smelled horrible, he was moved, but we were really unhappy. Wrote email to Manager after we returned , no response

Great airport hotel if shuttle instructions fixed

All was great apart from the written instructions for the pickup point at JKIA being incorrect, causing me to miss the shuttle but the hotel then sent a pick-up v fast. Another guest had the same experience last week, so there was ample time to update and correct the instructions sent to guests.

Loved my first stay here. Normally I stay at Crowne Plaza in Nairobi as I travel to Africa several times a year for business. This hotel was a pleasant change. It’s close to the airport, super clean, and buffet rivals Crowne. I had 9 students traveling with me, but the check-in process was amazingly smooth with Beth showing competence, courteousness, and patience. I hope to return here and will recommend this hotel to business associates.
