The Space:
The Whistling Frog by Tiny Away is located in the charming town of Neerim South, West Gippsland, within the Shire of Baw Baw. Just 109 km east of Melbourne and 19 km north of Warragul, the retreat sits beside a dam, surrounded by a 270-degree forest with mountain views to the west.
It’s located close to Mt Baw Baw and Toorongo Falls—about an hour from Melbourne and 20 minutes from Warragul. This cozy 139-square-foot tiny home offers spectacular sunset views, abundant wildlife, and soothing soundscapes that make you feel truly at home in nature.
Along with its serene setting, the farm stay features easy access to water, split-air conditioning, a kitchenette with cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste-holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the unfenced dam, children are welcome with close adult supervision and must not leave children unaccompanied.
Guest Access:
Guests can access our tiny home and its surrounding areas, excluding the host’s private residence and shed. This is self-catering, so please bring your own food.

- The driveway is not suitable for low-clearance vehicles.
- Firewood is available for $25 per bag, with prior arrangement.

The Whistling Frog by Tiny Away is nestled in the small town of Neerim South, within the scenic Shire of Baw Baw. Just over an hour’s drive east of Melbourne and 20 minutes north of Warragul.
What’s more, our farm stay offers easy access to nearby attractions like the Noojee Heritage Centre, Mt Baw Baw ski area, Toorongo Falls, the Rokeby cycling trail, Glen Nayook Reserve, and Blue Rock Dam—perfect for kayaking and fishing. Just a little further afield, you’ll find Five Aces Brewing Co., Misty Hills Cafe, Nangara Reserve, Mt Erica Mushroom Rocks, Thomson Reservoir, and the historic charm of Walhalla.
Getting Around:
By car:
- 1 hr 15 mins, 66 km away to Mt Baw Baw
- 1 hr 20 mins, 110 km drive from Melbourne
- 20 mins, 20 km drive away to the nearest town Warragul
By public transport: Guests could take a VLine train to Warragul and take a small bus from Warragul to Neerim South twice a day. Taxi services are based in Warragul.

- Driveway is not suitable for low cars
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- No smoking allowed inside the tiny home or on-site
- Mobile reception for Telstra is good; other networks are weak
- Wombats, possums, and reptiles (e.g., like snakes) may be present
- Maintain distance from wildlife and stay alert to uneven terrain and potential hazards.
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Pets (EXCLUDING CATS) are allowed with 24 hours’ notice and must be leashed at all times. The complete pet policy will be shared prior to arrival.

- Due to the unfenced dam nearby, children are welcome with close adult supervision
- Although some people consider this driveway to be steep, it has plenty of traction and is suitable for confident drivers; persons with low cars should approach gutters at an angle to avoid scraping them.
Important note:
- No BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
