The rooms are exceptionally well appointed - the staff knowledgeable and the beds very comfortable. Highly impressed with the level of cleanliness. Well done
Would definitely recommend and we would stay again. We stayed with our 3 month old baby, the location was handy for river walks and for town. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Motel is close to city (5 minutes drive), and has it's own restaurant. In available options in Nelson, it is worth staying.
great location, close to supermarkets, shops and restaurants. car parking outside the hotel is limited, but there is a car park behind the hotel which you can use.
I liked the location, everything else was mediocre
Great place to stay. Out of the central city area but close to all amenities
Beautiful golden tan fading fast? Spending a little too much time indoors? Hotels in Nelson have the cure for your vitamin D blues. Called the "Top of the South", it’s one of the sunniest cities in New Zealand. As the locals like to say, “Nelson is a lifestyle”, and it’s one you need to get in on ASAP.
If you think you know museums, just wait until you see the crazy costumes at the World of Wearable Art Museum. Check out wearable wedding cakes (not edible, unfortunately) and more, then head to Trafalgar Park. No Kiwi holiday is complete without a visit to the local goal posts, and this is one of New Zealand’s most beautiful stadiums.
Accommodation in Nelson puts you near plenty of natural beauty, too; just head north to Abel Tasman National Park. It may be New Zealand’s smallest, but it’s got golden beaches, rugged granite cliffs and world-famous trails. This park is worth it even just for Cleopatra’s Pool, which has a natural, moss-lined waterslide, and Harwoods Hole, the deepest vertical shaft in New Zealand. Adrenaline-fuelled selfies: check!
Nelson Airport (NSN) is just 8 km south of the town centre, so you can easily cab it to your Nelson accommodation. From there, you can use taxis to get around or the bus service (not to mention your own two feet or a bike). But you’ll definitely want to check out lastminute.co.nz’s car hire deals in order to get to the parks. Coming from within South Island? The city is about 5 hours north of Christchurch.
New Zealand may be chockablock with outdoorsy fun, but no one does it quite like cloudless, vibrant Nelson. Get that carefree lifestyle started: Book your airfares and accommodation together with Nelson holiday packages from lastminute.co.nz and your only worry will be which national park to go to first.
