We didn’t appreciate having to pay £100 upfront on arrival (that we weren’t told about) as a deposit which we would get back. I had already booked and paid for the room. There were small refreshments in the room - crisps, biscuits, chocolate etc but I didn’t realise at first that there was an expensive charge if you ate them. I would have thought they were complimentary and it didn’t seem welcoming. The room was below average. The bedside plugs didn’t work, there was a crack in sink, handles were falling off, windows did not open and were very dirty, the decor was tired. The bed was big, clean and comfortable. The room was quiet and warm. There was air conditioning. The staff were very good and professional. In particular, the man on the door was very friendly and helpful. The entrance and dining area was impressive. The location is excellent.
