We loved this place! We were in town for 12 days during Jazzfest. We normally stay in the Garden District or CBD (Central Business District), and this was my first time staying Uptown. I walk a lot when I'm in town, but I also use public transport. This property is a 15 minute walk to the St. Charles streetcar, and you can easily walk down to Magazine St. and peruse the shops, restaurants, bars, catch the bus from down there. It's also pretty easy walking distance to CBD. The neighborhood is in transition, with some houses currently being renovated, and some unoccupied. I'd say it's definitely an up-and-coming neighborhood, but like many New Orleans neighborhoods, there are definitely some homes in disrepair. I will say though, that my girlfriend, my friend & I walked that neighborhood at ALL hours of the day & night, and it's quite safe. We never had anything more than a hello or the colloquial "How y'all doin'?" as we walked through there. So, don't be deceived by the appearance of the neighborhood. The house, I will say, is as nice as the pix suggest! It's got electronic locks on both front and rear doors, and security cameras. This hosts are VERY responsive, and we were able to get all of our questions answered in a timely manner (i.e. trash pick-up day, etc), but the house is well-appointed, logically laid-out, includes a nice washer/dryer, which was a lifesaver on a 12-day trip. And, the bathtub in the primary bathroom is AMAZING! My gal loved it!
