Great location. First motel we have stayed at with no reception. Easy check in and good communication. Parking across the road which was convenient and short walk to Bourbon St.

3BR apt only had a love seat in living room. Insufficient seating for number of guests. Sheets were stiff and felt like plastic. Bedroom doors squeaking when opened enough to awaken guests when opened. TV kept reverting to screen saver screen during network TV viewing. No luggage storage on site. No drawers to hold clothing. Had to live out suitcases. Stayed at Sonder 21 in Nashville previously, really liked that one.

I just returned from a beautiful trip to New Orleans. Everywhere we went we were shown incredible hospitality. Except by Sonder. We stayed at Sonder The Schaefer, and the experience was deeply disappointing and, frankly, alarming. Our unit had no hand soap or washcloths. The washcloth and hand towels took almost all day to arrive after we requested them. We never received HAND SOAP. The keypad barely worked, forcing us to repeatedly fight with our own front door. A ceiling vent began leaking brown water directly onto the toilet and when I reported it, I was told that no one would inspect it because we were checking out soon. My brother’s room and second bathroom also had an active leak. The elevator smelled like burning rubber so we used the stairs because nothing says “vacation” like avoiding vertical death. The floors were visibly sloped and a cracked structural beam added a layer of dread to an already stressful stay. I was offered a refund for one night. But these issues affected the entire stay. Worse than the bad conditions, though, was the lack of care, or accountability from Sonder. And beyond the guest experience, here’s the larger problem: This is a company taking multi-bedroom apartments that could be homes for families in a city that desperately needs affordable housing and converting them into unattended hotels for tourists. There is no staff on-site. No real support. No concern for the neighborhoods these “aparthotels” exist in.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - No employees anywhere - Room filthy - Room not stocked with anything, asked for toiletries/more towels & the chat on the app which is oversees said it will take 24 hours for anything to be delivered… the room wasn’t stocked to begin with! - LOUD BEEPING ALL NIGHT LONG, kept us all awake. - Elevator didn’t work most days - Furniture broken - Microwave broken The worst experience I have ever had in a hotel or whatever dump this place is. Bare bones college dorm experience but the worst cheapest kind. A local tour guide told me it was a crack den and was just recently converted. That made perfect sense. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Comfortable and nice, but thin walls.

The hotel itself was nice overall, clean and good location. We were happy with the actual space. Our biggest problem was the very thin walls! We had read reviews about this but did not expect it to be as bad as it was. We would consider staying again, but would bring noise machines.

Overall it was nice and quaint . Great location . I do think the color scheme in the rooms needs to be updated. It was a green trim around the borders and doors . I think just updating would make a world of difference as well as putting some flooring down instead of the natural concrete

Our family of 5 loved the three bedrooms/two bathrooms. The kitchen and living room let us relax at the end of a busy day. Everything we needed was included - dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, paper towels, dishes, etc. I had a question that was quickly answered through the chat feature. When we needed extra towels they were delivered quickly. We would absolutely recommend Sonder to anyone and will be back.

We loved the 3 bedroom apartment! It was so clean and nice. Plenty of room. Great location. Super simple rental, checkin, checkout processes. The only downside was the evelator noise in the night, since our room was right next to the elevator.

The walls are super thin, so all night could hear people coming and going in the halls. The 3 bedroom felt cramped, and there definitely wasn't enough seating outside in the living area for us all. When we asked for extra towels, we were told to run a load of laundry.

We had a wonderful time staying at The Sonder in New Orleans. Our 3 bedroom, 2 full bath apartment w kitchen was very comfortable for the 5 of us. The room and building has amazing charm, such as real original uneven hardwood floors, brick and plaster walls. We appreciated that most people stayed relatively quiet after 10 pm. Very easy walk to Canal street, the French Quarter, shopping, restaurants and all the area attractions. Very clean, comfortable, and ac worked great! The only criticism is that there is not a way to store luggage either before or after arrival. There is not a front desk. We stayed 3 nights, but only enough coffee for 2 days. Bummer, I had to go down to the bar, and get coffee. (Not a big deal☺️)

Highly recommend - walking distance to all major attractions in French Quarter. Stylish and practical. Communication is clear. Only one thing worth keeping in mind - if you come with a lot of clothes or stay very long our apartment did not have a closet and had only minimal storage space. We rented for three nights so it did not matter and could have been that our unit is for short stays.
