Cheerful and basic

I didn’t spend that much time in the hotel, but the lower level room for coffee and breakfast is cheerful with a pool table and a variety of seating. Coffee is available all day and is good. My room is cheerful and clean with nice big towels. Hotel is new.

Who knew there were hotels in Gowanas! Only complaint would be the walls were a bit thin. I could hear other rooms to the sides and above.

I enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and professional. Everything is updated and clean. I loved the fact that it didn't have carpet in the room, Nice big windows , you can enjoy the sunlight or darken the room.

RUDE MUCH?

The air conditioner broke and they didnt have any rooms to put us elsewhere. The front desk clerk(a man) was rude as hell. I asked to get $ off of my room bc of the AC and he argued with me and said that i needed to talk to my 3rd party booker bc i didnt pay him i paid expedia. Just an all aound bad experience!

A solid and affordable choice

Typical small NY hotel room but very clean and bathroom was a decent size. My daughter ended up being very sick on our second night and they let us do an extra late check out. Front desk was fantastic overall. Close to the R train for easy access into the city. Lots of restaurants close by as well. Highly recommend.

I asked to have a QUOTE room (far from elevator) since I'm a light sleeper, so they game the room RIGHT BEHIND the elevator and I couldn't sleep that night! cuz the elevator belts and doors were making noise every time it was in use. I changed my room to another one for the second night and it was good. I couldn't turn off the TV in the room, so I had to find the power cord and unplug it so I can sleep. the remote battery was dead. I called the reception (pressing 0 from the hotel's phone) and no one picked it up to help so I called the main number from my cell and finally someone picked it up. I asked for a favor to extend my check out time till 12 and it got rejected! as a silver member, I thought I could have a better experience in general, but....

Great customer service by Amanda

I was greeted at the front desk by Amanda. Amanda was very professional. Her customer service skills should be bottled and marketed. She made me feel comfortable she made me feel as though I was important and throughout her tour of duty leading into the next day and the next day when she saw me she checked on me to make sure I was okay and everything was as to expectation. Perhaps that's why they have her working the front desk however I think she should be moved up to the ladder to the next position because customer service like this is what customers like I look forward to when spending my hard or money. The hotel was a little hard to find because there's no very large sign on the door. The block has parking but sparingly however there are parking garages within short walking distances. Eateries as well as shopping is close by. The block is very quiet at night at least in the winter I don't know about the summer spring or fall. I got up every morning had a bite to eat from the buffet and a cup of coffee. The coffee was hot it wasn't very tasty but that's because of the company the brand lavazza is not my favorite at all. My hotel room was clean without any unpleasant sense nothing to complain about. The majority of my time was just that my time I didn't interact very much with the staff but when I did it was a pleasure.
