I was disappointed with my stay for a few reasons: 1. The room was functional but felt cold and uninviting. It lacked warmth—no rugs, minimal textures, and nothing in the bathroom to make it feel cozy. 2. Security was a concern. Anyone could enter the building and access the elevators, which felt unsettling given the lively but sometimes unpredictable surroundings. 3. The water never stayed warm. I couldn’t shower for more than two minutes at a time without it turning cold. Also, note to bring your own conditioner as they don’t supply any. 4. Communication was frustrating. The front desk staff directed everything to a customer service text line, which was slow to respond and didn’t allow calls. This made even simple requests a hassle.

The only reason it loses a star is that it’s not the most luxurious. Rooms are clean and new but lack some of the usual amenities like lotion and tissue and robes, and the gym is very small so you have to reserve in advance and limit it to members of your party. However, for the price in that area, it’s a fantastic place to stay. Great neighborhood and convenient to everywhere with a dozen subway lines nearby. I was a bit worried about finding the entrance but Freeman Alley was easy to spot — just make sure your driver goes down Rivington, not Bowery. And no problem checking in after 6 as the front desk was staffed until very late.
