Great experience overall

Overall good experience. Place is at a super convenient location - you can go anywhere in 10 mins using the subway. Room was clean. Some not so great things: Some of the staff some were friendly and some were moody. The included breakfast could have been something better than a coupon to redeem at the restaurant.

Beds and room amenities and finishes great. Stayed 4 nights. First 3 nights were great. The last night upon returning to our room found the door ajar with the latch open outside the room. Not good. All of our belongings had been moved and suitcases closed but nothing was missing. Our room was not secure all day as we saw cleaner in the room next door when we left the room at 11am. Spoke to the manager about the issue.

A 5* but only just. Room are ok albeit no separate bathroom area - sinks in hallway. No shaving / make up mirror. No complimentary water. Service in breakfast restaurant SUPER relaxed - could be a little more attentive and ‘on it’. Even as a resident there is a charge for a bed at the pool, which was not good.

This is a great hotel in a great spot. I brought my kids into the city for a little adventure and we chose to stay at Virgin NYC, and I am really happy that we did! We had an incredible view of the Empire State Building!

Bed was too soft and not very comfortable. Espresso machine in the room did not work. Size of room was small. Otherwise clean and nicely designed. No real lounge at the hotel entrance. Great location.

The window shade was broken, and the top rail fell in my husband’s head when he tried to lower shade. Engineer did come up to fix it but it was delicate. Shower did not drain properly, we asked for maintenance but it didn’t appear fixed or drain any better. Lighting in front room was poor, one light almost out. Housekeeping should have noticed and replaced. They also did not replace toilet paper roll or empty Kleenex box, we had to call for that. And they did not throw out empty paper cups. Elevators in hotel while safe, are unnecessarily complicated. Service at bar on 38th floor was poor. Automatic service fee of 20% added at breakfast wasn’t expected.

They gave me a room without AC and then when I left they said we have a $39 dollars distance fee for each night but we going to wave it out for the inconvenience. I have never been to a hotel that charged distance fee. They lie and they rude.

Love it.

Was in town for business and fun. Was concerned when I checked in because the lobby is lackluster but once I got into the hotel, it was amazing. Room, restaurants, pool, all were wonderful.
