Howland House Inn, circa 1750, is one of Newport's oldest homes predating the Revolution. But that doesn't mean our amenities are old, too. Inside you'll find all the modern conveniences and accessories you'd expect from a fine hotel... all within steps of Newport's waterfront dining and activities.
We like to give guests their space, and we are always available to guests if they need anything. Check-in instructions will be sent on the morning of your stay with codes to doors and parking instructions. Please do not hesitate to ask for anything during your stay!

Howland House Inn is located just one block from all harbor front events, dining and shopping in Newport Rhode Island. Local amenities such as restaurants, shops, clubs, banks, coffee shops and parks with playgrounds and hiking trails are all available within walking distance.
Guests will have access to the front door and their room door with a keycode and our smart locks. After entering your room, you will see you have a wonderful space and private bathroom. There are two parking spots at the house that are first come first served. A parking pass will also be provided.

perfect location

I used to be a Newport resident and invited some extended family for a get-away. This place was perfectly located, great parking, we all had our privacy - most rooms had a coffee station and fridge and private bathroom. The kitchen is separate - you have to walk thru a couple of bedrooms or go around house to access it which was not a problem for us. We had an elderly lady with us and she was very comfortable. Excellent place!
