Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. A beautiful detached timber lodge, which is well insulated and heated for all year-round comfort. With an outdoor bistro table and chairs in a private area. The lodge looks out over open fields enjoying a wonderful countryside vista. You are nestled within the owner’s grounds, retaining its privacy with a secure fenced-off area around the lodge accessed via a gate. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy your peaceful surroundings, with help on hand should you need it.
The lodge is designed to perfectly accommodate two people. With its comfy double bed, essential for a great night’s sleep, you can awake fully rejuvenated ready to enjoy your next day’s adventures. There is a compact open-plan kitchen with a breakfast bar which is a great vantage point for bird/ nature watching. With a smart TV, it can be watched from the bedroom or living area. To the side of the cabin is a lawned garden, a lovely spot to sit in and enjoy the tranquillity of nature, and perhaps even have a romantic outdoor meal or stargazing session as the location has no light pollution.
The Norfolk Broads, known for its beautiful waterways and wildlife, offers plenty of opportunities for exploration and leisurely walks. Daily boat hire and water activities can be enjoyed locally. For those preferring to dine out, it is a short walk to the riverside, where you will find the village pub, a popular choice with many, and renowned for serving good food. There is also a patisserie serving delicious homemade pastries, cakes, coffee and tea. A local vineyard, where you can discover the art of wine-making and sample the collection of award-winning wines.
Whitlingham Country Park is located 15 15-minute’ drive, a beautiful spot to go for a walk around the large lake or partake in water sports, kayak, paddle board and boat hire. Surlingham Church Marsh is a nature reserve managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust and offers diverse habitats and a chance to spot wildlife. Wander along the trails that wind through reed beds, marshes and grazing marshes, and keep an eye out for birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Ted Ellis Nature Reserve is also a must-visit for nature watching, also in the village.
Surlingham and its surrounding countryside offer a plethora of scenic countryside walks. Enjoy Surlingham Circular Walk which includes a stroll along the riverside, or there is the Wherryman’s Way, a 35-mile stretch along the River Yare offering stunning views of the Broads and the peaceful countryside. Excellent sandy beaches can be found at Sea Palling, Eccles-on-Sea and Winterton-on-Sea. The traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth offers plenty of activities including a fun fair, amusements, a pier, crazy golf, a Sea Life Centre, an indoor leisure pool and a wide sandy beach with donkey rides, bouncy castles and trampolines (seasonal opening).
