Over-all good hotel, the staff is very nice and friendly, from the check-in desk to the pool bars, food at the restaurants is good and always available the only thing that i didn't quite understood is the 2 step check-in process, when you arrive you do your regular check-in process and then you have to get back in line to get the card keys to your room, shouldn't be just one time get all? i believe so, other than that everything else is good

In order to eat stake we had to wait more than 30 min in line and when finally we got to the hostel They told us it was full so 4 days of our stay we never made it to the stake house No acces from the lobby to the underground parking You have to walk around the ramp And when you walking in the parking lot Don’t be surprised if you get bird pop on your head They don’t have vallet parking It wasn’t a great experience as We were expecting For sure won’t stay there again

My wife and I were on summer holiday and entralled by the majesty of the palace upon arrival. We were excited to dine dip in the many pools and dine in the marvelous restaurants. One of my favorites by the way as the international buffet, which I enjoy a spectacular variety of my favorite delicacies.However, I was deeply saddened by the denial of a trip to the beach for the first three days. I was astounded that I could enter the playa. The reason being, a threat of crocodiles. I found that to be unreasonable because the truth being that there is a risk when entering the ocean. A deciding factor in choosing to stay at Rui, was the perception that I could enjoy the beach whenever I want with no qualms about it. Nonetheless, they let us in the beach sooner or later. I thoroughly enjoyed everything else. From the many pools, nightly entertainment, and wonderful staff that took care of us, it made our vacation one to never forget. Shout out to Mimi who led a fantastic zumba class and worked hard to keep the positive vibes flowing. Also, shout out to Frida who was an amazing referee in pool volleyball and who organized a variety of fun activities by the pool. Cant forget Juan the server who works at the beach and Pepe bar. He always knew when me and my wife needed another drink and was tentative to our orders. Lastly, shout out to room service who took care of our rooms better than our moms and who made our stay most comfortable. Thanks Rui!

Too crowded overall. There was a daily line to get into buffet and lines at every station. There are no reservations at the restaurants so you have to be there at 5pm to get an unknown place in line. They had towel tickets for the pool which created another stressor. We stayed there two years ago and this place has gone downhill. I would not return or recommend.

Hotel Riu Vallarta was a good stay for our family vacation. We went at the end of July, I understand it was a month where there’s was a lot of people but the pools were extremely hot, dirty and felt very slimy. It was almost impossible to enjoy a day at the pool. The kids splash pad area was extremely dirty as well and the water looked like it has not been treated in days. As for the food at the buffet, it was okay just not many options. Everyday was the same thing, there was not much variety. There was other restaurants and when we arrived the lobby told us there was no need to reserve. But when we would call to ask how much the wait time was they would say it was fully reserved which was upsetting. It was impossible to be able to eat in any. Bedroom wise, we can’t complain. They were extremely clean and the rooms had great A/C. It was a good vacation but I don’t think I would stay there again, definitely trying others :)

Poor Service & Unclean Conditions

Stayed 5 nights and had multiple issues. First room had cockroaches. We were moved, but the second room had a leaking bathroom, followed by an unpleasant smell of sewage. We reported both problems and got zero resolution or compensation. Service was terrible, staff was rude, including the towel attendant who slammed the window on guests. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was a daily scramble, with food being removed even while people were still eating. The entire resort was overcrowded and tall the pools were uncomfortably HOT. For the price and the number of rooms our group booked (23 family members) this hotel was a major letdown. Would not stay again.

Overall great experience on cleanliness, feeling safe, entertainment. We went with a group of friends and had kids aged 13- 16; they were on their own walking about nd not bored for a second! To mention the fine dining experience for dinner- most places you have to get in ahead of time or book to be able to dine. Great food though! Regarding the buffet, the food quality deteriorated by day 3 nd selection of fruits were not that great. So rating 3 out of 5 for the buffet. But overall, great get away!
