We stayed one night at Hotel Leonardo Royal in Nuremberg and had a frustrating experience, mainly due to mismanaged EV parking and poor service.
We chose this hotel because it advertised EV chargers, planning to charge our car overnight after a long drive. On arrival, we found several chargers — all blocked by diesel cars. Despite raising the issue with staff and the manager, no real help was offered. Their only suggestion was to “check back ourselves” to see if a spot opened. This is unacceptable. A hotel promoting EV facilities should ensure they are accessible, not rely on guests to solve the issue.
We even suggested a simple car swap to access a charger — a reasonable solution — but were met with excuses instead of action. Staff were defensive and unhelpful throughout.
It didn’t end there. We asked for a kettle and were told to come get it ourselves. Even budget hotels offer better service than this.
In short, the hotel’s service and management fell far short of expectations. There was no proactive support, no accountability, and no customer focus. Would not recommend — especially if you drive an EV or expect basic hospitality
