We couldn’t check in til 4 pm (which is late compared to ther rentals we’ve done). The elevator did not work upon arrival and we sat in the carport area 1.5 hrs waiting for help. We are senior citizens and can’t pack our suitcases and sewing machines up 2-3 flights of stairs.Our check out was supposed to be 10 am Saturday but housekeeping showed up at 8:45 and wanted us out because the property sold and they wanted to clean before the inspector arrived.Very annoying because we wanted to shop in Southport and stay at our VRBO til 9:30 am because none of the shops open until 10 am.So no shopping because there wasn’t anyplace to go hangout for almost 1.5 hrs. We paid for the space and started our stay almost 2 hrs late and got forced out 1.5 hr early!!Also, the deck chairs were filthy and we had to scrub them so we could use them. That should be part of housekeeping.

Waterbugs/cockroaches were in every room in house. When we arrived, the batteries in smoke detector were beeping so we had to call property manager; you would think house keeping would have changed batteries out before we arrived. Other than those two issues, this was a nice stay.

was not as clean as it should be. We requested the cleaners to come back on day 1 as the kitchen was dirty. They also replaced the coffee maker bc it was awful and the toaster. The cutting boards were not usable and the pots/pans seemed dirtyl Not a good first impression. Advertised with a grill at the property, but it was so rusted that it was not usable. Could have provided more chairs on the deck/balcony.

Family Get Away

The house is right on the beach, plenty big enough for our crew of 22, and the kitchen was well appointed. The house could have been cleaner and it felt very impersonal since it is managed by a rental company. It was difficult to get answers from the rental company via email, but they were attentive if you called.
