Close to UC Berkeley. Old hotel. Excellent staff

Older hotel with excellent staff. Next to Unit 1 Residence Hall and convenient to UC Berkeley which were my main reasons for staying here. Elevators are a little slow. Had a room with 2 double beds which was fine. Bathroom was small, without a ventilation fan so heat and moisture remain trapped in the room. Fixed shower head was difficult to move, no shower wand, and pressure was low. Parking is pricey but convenient. Nice lobby for hanging out or waiting for others but a lot of students use it for studying. Limited dining options onsite but plenty within walking distance. Staff were helpful, and accommodating. Good place for a short trip if you need to be very close to UC Berkeley.

Location is perfect for UC Berkeley based activities. Room has everything I need. Nice hit water, comfy bed, blinds block out the light, safe. Saw the same staff over all days of my stay. Knowledgeable and easy to communicate with.

I liked the convenience for visiting USC . The staff was very nice and helpful and the public areas are cute. They gave me a room with a confortable bed but it had a tiny bathroom and the tub was old and seemed like it was from the 80’’s. I only stayed one night so ut was ok but not a 4-star experience.

Be Warned!

We have stayed at other Graduates, but this one had some definite issues. The walls are not insulated very well, so you hear your neighbors. Also, there is a pizza joint across the street on the NW corner open until 2:00 AM. This has become a gathering place for students and other young folks, so very noisy for our three nights between 1:00 AM and 2:30 AM. We couldn't sleep during those hours. Our second night saw the police breaking up the crowds about 2:30 AM. Likely to get worse because they are building new student housing right next door. So unless they change the hours of the pizza place across the street facing west, this place cannot accommodate people who need to sleep between those early morning hours. Be warned!
