Great room for the price

The room was great and the staff was super supportive and friendly. I had to bring my 2 cats with me because we had to leave our apartments for a couple of days. The pet deposit was reasonable and we all had a relaxing few days there. It's nothing fancy but the room was clean, the sheets were soft, the air conditioning was cold and I felt safe.

Phone did not work, tv did not work - spent 30 minutes locating someone to correct the problem; sent me to another room - tv & phone worked, but maintenance & condition of doors, walls, floors, window coverings — filthy, water damage obvious, smelled of cooking aromas, baseboards damaged & rotting, elevator unkempt, not maintained. This place is not worth a dollar a night. Please do not let anyone make reservations here!!! I refused to stay the night and left after they refunded my charges to my VISA!! The desk person saw how angry I was that photos online are deceptive and do not show the awful conditions here!! I had to leave a party early so I would not have to stay in this squalor. I need a receipt from EXPEDIA to show I did not stay the night of Saturday 8/16/25. I have a receipt from Heritage Inn Express-Hayward, Front Desk Associate to show I left the hotel without staying the night & they did not charge my Visa. Thank you. Please eliminate this option from the EXPEDIA site!

Felt gritty. Child’s bicycle and toys were scattered edge of parking lot. Room was non-smoking but smelled of either smoke or aggressive, bitter cleaning solution. Parking lot is difficult to get out of with street partially blocked by semi. Economical but felt that way.
