We stayed at Pony Island passing through Ocracoke last year. We were so impressed that we intentionally booked to stay there on our way through again this year. The place is simple. No frills. It’s super clean, though, and the staff is fantastic! The restaurant on the property has good food and good service and the pool has been well maintained during both of our stays.

For a relatively remote island, the facilities met and exceeded all my expectations. The hotel is located very close to some popular eating destinations, and the locals provide an electric tram service that can take you pretty much anywhere on the island you want to go that you don't feel like walking to. We will definitely stay here again.

Ocracoke get away

Our room was clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable with lots of pillows. We loved the space with the fridge, microwave and table and chairs. The pool was nice. I would stay again! Check in and check out was great with alot of good area info given by the staff when checking in.

Simply stated room, comfie, but blinds wouldn’t go down in bathroom and toilet paper roll looked like it had been dropped in dirty water and dried.

Great experience at at The Pony Island Inn

This was the forth time visiting Ocracoke, The Pony Island Inn was the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed! Also loved the ground unit, no steps to worry with! I think this was the first place we’ve ever stayed that I didn’t have to ask for extra towels and wash cloths…Great housekeeping team!!!

Would ask for top floor next time, as there was a herd of buffalo stomping ants above us until the wee hours. Would definitely upgrade the beds, not very comfortable. Pool was very nice and location very convenient to everything.

Older(like most) beach style hotel that is well kept, clean and convenient. Golf cart rental right next door with several dining options and grocery across the street. Staff was very friendly and had great recommendations.
