Staff is very nice, decent location, walking distance to everywhere, I hate to say that I had really hard time to deal with the smell in this place (super moldy)

It’s ok but not great. The only thing we really liked about this place was its location. That’s basically the only thing you’re paying for. The hotel itself is really shabby. Amenities are not the best (no bidet, communal microwave only, no PJs). The whole place has seen better days. There were wallpapers peeling off everywhere and the whole place smells funny. The beds were really hard and the whole room was very small and we felt very claustrophobic. In saying that the staff were all very nice throughout the whole stay. I’d probably not stay here again but it’s ok for couple of nights. Wouldn’t recommend it for long stays.
The CHECKinn is a small hotel, within easy walking distance of a large variety of shops. Also close to subway stations.
The owners, Ally and River were very pleasant and helpful in any way they could be. When I left for the train to Kansai airport River drew me a map and printed google earth pictures of the area I would be going through, including the door into the station. There was always cold tea in the lobby and a coffee machine to buy coffee in the morning. In this reasonably priced hotel I cannot say enough about the way their guests are treated.
Staff service was top notch, from check in at front desk to housekeeping. Property was well kept, rooms were clean and big enough for a couple to travel. Area was nice as it was just a few minutes walking to konbinis and train stations. East to get around as it is close to city centre about 8 mins uber so you're never spending more than $10 USD to uber back to hotel when your hands are full from shopping. Daily snacks at lunch time and water provided. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed 2 nights. The best thing of this hotel is the location, close to Dotonbori so we didn't need to take any trains. This hotel is pretty basic, our room was super small, the bathroom also was small. Again, for us it was the location the most important thing, therefore we didn't spend much time in the room. There was a 7 eleven very close to the hotel, so that was good too.
Wonderful staff with great service. Shower and bathroom are great. Walking distance for a lot of train stations to help get around fast. Located close to Tsūtenkaku with lots of food options. One downside was that the bed kind of blocked the mini fridge but other than that, excellent place for the price.
Was absolutely delighted to stay here. At first coming from a western country it’s a shock but after the first night it’s rather comfortable. More so than the share stays and other hotels. Was a great place definitely go back. Only kettle in the room but Japan is all about dining out so great to spend the day out and come back to sleep.
The staff were super friendly and helpful which made our check-in smooth. They asked all our questions patiently (staff could speak english or they try their best to) and helped us store our delivered luggages directly to our room.
The room itself was okay. It was a little dusty especially the air conditioner vents (yes it was very visible) and they only had 1 pillow per bed.
Convenience wise, it was a 10 minute walk to Shin-Imamiya station East Exit entrance (the station itself is in the Osaka loop line so it was convenient to go to Osaka station and USJ!)
Overall the stay was worth it for the price.
We found a pair of socks under our bed and the air conditioning unit had an above average amount of dust in it, causing myself and my partner to wake up with sore throats every morning if we had the unit on. The light knob was broken on the bed, the trash can held virtually no trash and overall it seemed like they were renovating? There are better places to stay for the same price point l.
Very nice and tidy accomodation, the staff is very friendly and there's English speaking staff aswell. They helped us very well with any questions we had.
Also very convenient location, it's close to Nipponbashi and Shinsekai and there's two metro stations within an 8 minute walk from the hotel. There's also a supermarket across the street and many restaurants nearby.
