8 days business trip

I usually travel for business, and this stay was part of an 8-day trip for a conference. I booked a suite, which was advertised as the best room available at the hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite multiple requests, the room was only cleaned once during my entire stay. The suite itself was outdated, with visible stains on the walls and floors, and an overall worn-out feel. The lighting in the room was also poor, making it feel dark and uninviting. For a top-tier room, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and comfort.

I have stayed at this property for 6-7 years since my daughter started university. I like its proximity to ByWard Market, ample parking space, Loblaws next door, and reasonable price. I also like the attached Indian restaurant next door. However, the carpet in the hallways felt too worn out. They should be deep-cleaned or even replaced. The room wasn't ready when we arrived for check-in, so we waited 40-45 minutes to get in. When we entered the room, the fan was too noisy. We could not have slept through it, so we asked to be moved to another room. The bathroom in the new room had a putrid smell. Regulating the water temperature was too tricky, and the pressure was unpredictable. Nothing is majorly wrong with this property, but the little inconveniences were annoying. This would be our last stay at this hotel.

The hotel was okay. I would not recommend this hotel to people I know. The hotel is very dated. Our room seem dimly lit. There was not a lot of water pressure and the shower curtain rod was not very secure.

The room rate was good, cheapest in the area. The rooms were clean. Unfortunately one room were we stayed, the door lock does not lock. The second room, the AC/heater unit was noisy due to a mechanical noise from a worn out part “squicky noise”. The reception did not provided us a parking tag on our car that caused us a parking ticket. Well maybe we could not complain much because we probably got what we paid for compared to the other hotels around the area. Would we stay there again, we would spend a little bit more for a better hotel.
