This was such a special spot in Ouray and we were so grateful to be so well taken care of by the staff. The downstairs pool and spa were a great escape at the end of a day of hiking and the bar area was packed in the best of ways. Bed was a bit hard in my opinion but the other small touches such a yogurt, granola, waters and fruits made up for it. Highly recommend.

Not worth the money. This was roughly $750 a night and I expected a lot more for that price. The staff was friendly and helpful and the bar area was cozy with good service. But the room I was in was just weird. The lighting was terrible at night, with a couple of ugly scabbed on reading lights on the bed but very little light in the main tv area. Poor design and not really having the feel of a historic hotel. I can't recommend it.

Was a nice stay and I’ll definitely be staying again. I told the manager this tho… there are no black out curtains in any of the rooms. So, you will see daylight as soon as the sun comes up. The bed we had was more like a cot, platform bed type. Not that comfortable either. But, I will stay again and book a different room. I brought my own portable black out shades which helped a little with the light issues. The spa area was very relaxing.

This was definitely not worth the money, rooms seem to be a half hearted attempt to update with keeping a rustic vibe. Example…tissue holder box I believe someone thought it was a leather look but was actually a cheap rubberized football grain for a kids bedroom. USB chargers are slow at best when they want to work. Forget about decent lighting, it feels like you are living by night light once the sun goes down. Cobwebs and dust bunnies all over ceiling. The walls are dirty and in need of paint and have white spackle all over them, filling up holes (I think they are trying to play it off as rustic for the time being) bed was memory foam (without the memory) hard as a rock. It was my fault for not realizing they did not have a tv but it would be nice to be able to stream something from phone instead staring at the lackluster room the whole time. The view maybe would have been ok except you could barely see out of the windows with all the dirt on the them. Internet seemed ok, bathroom and shower were fine. Bathroom sink faucet though was to long for the sink and made the sink useless without getting water all over the floor or yourself. Overall the room would have been tolerable at a price point of $250 or less per night, but they are charging premium spa prices to stay in them which feels like a complete rip off. I can’t speak of the dining or the spa at the hotel, they probably are nice because they are the overcharging the hotel stay to pay for them.

This hotel is very centrally located in Ouray. Great historic feel to it. It is a trek up to the 3rd floor and the rooms are small but comfortable. The food in the restaurant is excellent but very small portions.

Unique hotel with historic bones but modern rooms. See the100 yr old painting of the lady on the floor of the bar area and read the story behind it. Very good bar and restaurant inside the hotel

We had a beautiful stay in Ouray Colorado and staying at The Western Hotel and spa was terrific. Everyone was very kind and helpful, they made us feel like we were always a priority and never a bother. I loved my stay at The Western Hotel and Spa so much that I extended it for another night! From the moment I arrived, the customer service made me feel completely at home—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. My room was a cozy cocoon of comfort, the perfect retreat after a long day, with soft lighting and plush bedding that made it impossible not to relax. The spa area was pure serenity. The dim lighting, rustic stone walls, and candlelit ambiance created the perfect atmosphere for unwinding. I indulged in both a massage and a facial, and they were absolutely incredible—deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. The attention to detail in the spa experience made it truly special. On top of all that, the attached restaurant and chef-driven dining experience were phenomenal. Every dish was crafted with care, making every meal a treat in itself. If you’re looking for a luxurious escape where you can truly relax, be pampered, and feel at home, The Western Hotel and Spa is it. I can’t wait to come back!
