Staff weren’t good English speakers but still kind and helpful. The fancy pool in the pictures on rooftop with lazy river was not available to us - language barrier on reason why but I think it’s because we didn’t stay in the expensive suite building that it was connected to. The pool we did get access to we had to pay for and my girls could only swim in one lane. The pool was the only disappointment. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the onsite family mart too! Rooms were larger than expected with comfy beds. Lobby was beautiful. Hotel shuttle and access to train stations were perfect. We would stay again.

Hotel is not located inside the city, and no shops nearby, but offers free shuttle bus between two major stations and the hotel which is very convenient. The hotel decor and bathroom are dated but is overall is clean.

I had a wonderful visit at the Portopia Hotel. My room had all of the toiletries I needed plus a set of pajamas and slippers. When I ordered room service, the staff came to my room to take my order. I would definitely recommend this hotel as an American visiting Japan. However, it is on Port Island so I had to tax in Kobe.

It's a functional stay if you have a conference nearby, as my partner did. The property is very spacious but has its years. The room is huge and adequately equipped. The breakfast buffet has a variety and offers a great view of Kobe. The only two thing we did not totally love, is the distance from town, although the shuttle service is great; and also the noisy kids running around breakfast. Otherwise, it's great and convenient.

The hotel rooms are spacious,quiet, with very comfortable beds. The service is outstanding as well. The only draw back is there are limited restaurants on Port Island, but they run a shuttle every 20mins for free to Sannomiya station - so really not an isssue. There is a nice convience store at the hotel for drinks, snacks, prepackaged meals, and toiletries. The shuttle also takes you to Shin-Kobe, which is a huge help. They also have a designated bus stop in front of Shin-Kobe, so take advantage of that for the ride to the hotel. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

We only stayed 1 night to catch early flight from Kobe airport. While we chose the premier room so it’s a little more modern/updated, the hotel does seem a bit outdated.

Wonderful breakfast buffet

Great breakfast buffet on 30th floor Comfy beds and great views . Excellent rate, Sink drains very slowly . Partial shower glass doors created some wet floors.
