Welcome to this private air conditioned Oceanfront Studio located between Hilo, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and black sand beaches! Just 35 minutes from Hilo international Airport, Rainbow Falls, and more! This is an affordable way for singles or couples to enjoy an oceanfront experience where they can watch whales, dolphins, sea turtles, and benefit from the ever present cooling trade winds and wave sounds. When traveling to Hawaii, staying on the ocean greatly enhances the experience!

The Space:
Enter through the hand carved teak door and enjoy your own tiny yet private oceanfront studio located on the lower level of this grand oceanfront home. If you plan on seeing many of the best sites the Big Island has to offer, we feel this is right in the middle of it all without being in the hustle of a commercialized area. Explore black sand beaches, Volcano National Park, multiple water falls, and the recent lava flows!

Mable floors and other fine touches throughout this tiny studio lead to the ocean views!

A small 40 sq foot Lanai with 2 chairs is perfect for taking in the ocean breeze while spotting dolphins or seasonal whales. The large overhang above the deck makes sure that even on the wet days you can enjoy the outdoor lanai. Note this overhang does not block the ocean, but it does block much of the skyline.

There is a queen size high-end bed that is sure to give you a great nights sleep after a fun day of Hawaiian adventure.

A fully stocked bathroom with extra beach towels and fine soaps is our standard!

A fridge and freezer, dishes, coffee maker, microwave, and utensils are included.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the studio on the lower level of the home. The rocky beach is best accessed by a vacant lot next to us. Note this is not a sandy beach, but large lava rock and you will need good shoes if attempting to traverse it.

The Neighborhood:
The beach behind the home (and most of the east side of Hawaii) is rocky. You can still walk along the coast but good shoes are recommended. The waves come in too strong for swimming. There is an olympic size community pool and kids splash parkl in Pahoa Town that is free for our guests to use. There are some sandy beaches to the north in Hilo and to the south in Kehena and Pohoiki (the worlds newest beach). There is so much to do and see in this area its hard to list it all. We can create custom recommendations for our guests based on what type of activities they wish.

Getting Around:
Big Island is BIG and having a car is ideal! That being said, there is a bus line within walking distance. We are always happy to suggest activities and places to eat!

Other Things to Note:
This house is configured as follows:
The upstairs and lower floor are completely separated and each have private entrances. The upstairs is also used as a family friendly short term rental. You may hear "apartment" style noise above but never loud parties or music. In the unlikely event noise beyond normal day to day activities occurs, please let us know so we can correct this.

The studio is small at about 170 sq ft and the deck is another 40 sq ft. This place is best suited for 1 or 2 people.

From the moment you arrive, your privacy is completely respected. That being said, we are available 24/7 to support if requested.
To give you the highest level of service, a booking form will be sent via messages following reservation.
You are welcome to ask us for a list of must see attractions and our favorite restaurants.
The upper floor is also an Airbnb. We have quite hours from 8pm to 8 am.
