Beautiful historic hotel located on the central plaza of the old town “Casco Viejo”. Perfect location to wander about the old town for a few days . Wonderful restaurants , from the casual rooftop restaurant to the gourmet Panamanian restaurant to a sumptuous breakfast buffet . I would stay here again in a minute!

Love it!

Loved the hotel. Clean, great restaurants on site. A delicious breakfast was included with our stay. The history of the hotel is quite interesting and the location in Casco Vieja can’t be beat.

Hotel at the heart of Old Town

The hotel's main appeal is the location, right at the main plaza of the Old Town and also its historic, elegant look. Inside, the hotel has a feel of a big mansion from the XIX century. Panama City's Old Town is relatively small, so you can walk all over it in no time. The breakfast is a buffet and was fine.

Some glitches

Lovely hotel and we got a great deal. One day we had to call three times to get them to clean the room and in the end, we just grabbed a woman with a cart and exchanged our towels. Also, after we checked out, they charged us for a mini bar fee, when we did not eat or drink anything. We tried there times to get an explanation for this and got no response. Eventually, I contacted my credit card with the situation and got it removed.

Central Hotel is a treasure. The location is ideal -- right on the square with the cathedral and the Canal museum (which is superb), and an easy walk to all of Casco Viejo. My room was spacious, modern, and immaculately kept, with a large, spotless bath; the amenities were first-rate, especially the several restaurants; and the staff could not have been more helpful. I recommend it without reservation.

We had a splendid stay at Central Hotel Panama. The location was perfect for visiting old town. Lots of restaurants and shops in walking distance. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the room was very clean and well appointed. We highly recommend Central Hotel Panama.

Very nice property in the heart of Old town Panamá City. Very walkable to all the highlights of the city from churches, to shopping and restaurants. Also great breakfast buffet, a rooftop bar and pool. I had a great stay!

A phenomenal experience!

We were on a trip for a vacation and to visit Panama for the first time. At lot of things about this hotel are great: the location, the amenities, the people and the presentation. We would DEFINITELY not only visit Panama City again, but also book this hotel again. Thanks to everyone of the hotel staff for making this a very memorable first time visit for us. I chose to stay at this property to experience the local culture, but unfortunately, the customer service was awful. It felt like the staff was taking advantage of non-Spanish speakers at every opportunity. For example, I ordered a margarita at the restaurant, which was listed as $10 on the menu. When the bill arrived, it was $25 for a small whiskey glass. I paid it and called the front desk to ask for an explanation about the discrepancy. I was told someone would call me back, but no one ever did. Additionally, the room had a strong sewage smell, and the same issue was present in the lobby. I overheard another guest also complaining about his room at the front desk. We called about our own room issue, and although someone was supposed to come, no one ever did. On top of that, we were told at the front desk there was a party for $135. When we went to pay, the price had inexplicably jumped to $157. I was also promised a different location for the party, but when we went downstairs, we were placed in a secluded area beneath the stairs. Ultimately, we decided to check out early and stayed at the W for our final two nights. The difference was like night and day. We’re trying to get a refund for the two nights, but they’re making it tough.
