Perfect hotel for overnight before catching the ferry. Quick walk to the ferry terminal. A little noisy from the bar across the street.

The staff was extremely friendly, price was reasonable. The other reviewers are accurate with the noise however this is not the hotels fault. It is located in the heart of downtown so noise is expected. This is not prevent me from sleeping and the traffic did was not noticeable past 8-9. Great location and incredible staff, cannot got wrong!

Fantastic location

The most outstanding aspect of the Maitai Express is its location in the center of everything. If you are taking a cruise, taking the ferry to Moreea or shopping in the expansive market this is the best hotel in Papeete. Our room was comfortable and clean and the front desk staff was very helpful. The only negative we encountered was the toilet which was mounted so high from the floor that our feet couldn't touch the floor when using it

This property was very expensive for all the things you DO NOT get, for example: 1. Rooms are so tiny (like a prison cell) there is nowhere to open your suitcase except on the bed 2. No hairdryer 3. No outlets to charge devices other than ONE in the tiny bathroom. There is what looks like a usb outlet next to the bed but it doesnt work to charge anything. 4. NO free parking and it is not readily available nearby. You can pay the exorbitant rate for the hotel to park your car in the street. 5. Only one packet of coffee per morning even if there are 2 people. Only enough sugar and cream for the one cup of coffee and the staff are either unable or unwilling to give another. 6. No pool 7. No frills at all 8. They have a paltry (seriously paltry) continental breakfast that they charge $30 per person (should come free with the room along with some coffee). NOBODY eats it as you can go next door and get a fresh hot breakfast for half the price, with coffee included. The few good things: 1. Despite the bed feeling like it had no give, it was actually quite comfortable. 2. The location is great right downtown and right across from the ferry, across from the food trucks, and two blocks from the market (if you are into that type of thing). 3. The room was very clean. 4. Check out was easy.
