Poor communication, security deposit not refunded, power outage for the first night.
Unfortunately this stay was marred by there being very poor communication with the owner once we were at the property. We did not have full power to the property a few hours after our arrival and the owner did not answer phone or text messaging until days later. We were fortunate to have help from a random person in the building with the power, and yet still no contact from the owner until the second last day of our stay. Our security deposit has still not been refunded and there has been no further contact with the owner following phone calls, text messaging and messaging through VRBO and WhatsApp. VRBO have not been able to make contact with the owner either and have not been able to have our security deposit returned. About the property - the apartment itself had some poor building aspects - Sky lights still had clamps on them outside on the roof area and insulation was exposed from the edges of the sky lights, lift not always operational, poor to no lighting on the stairs leading up to the apartment and plastic sheeting lining the floor area outside the apartment.
