The Terrace Inn is one of the jewels of northern MI. Everyone on staff is helpful and cheery. The restaurant is excellent. Every hour, one finds another reason to be glad one chose to be there. I'll be back next year 😌

This is our 2nd stay at the Terrace Inn and we stayed for 3 nights this time—we love historic hotels and this one does not disappoint. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant is wonderful, make sure to have the whitefish! Sitting on the front porch is great and relaxing. The only slight disappointment is breakfast, choices are limited and it doesn’t vary much…while we were there, no hot choices were available. But don’t let that stop you, this place is terrific!

Knowing that the building was built in 1911 and that it is an historic inn, let’s say it has a lot of charm! Extremely clean, staff super friendly, awesome location on the grounds of Bay View, wonderful back porch, a lovely experience! Breakfasts were disappointing, not much provided beyond pastries and hard boiled eggs and fruit. While we didn’t dine there, they were very accommodating when we arrived as the kitchen was closing -they let us put in orders and actually baked a left over white fish and give it to us complementary! It was delicious as were the other items we ordered. Super friendly! Mattress was not great but had no problem sleeping. Air conditioner was squeaky but my husband likes “white noise” and I have 1 deaf ear so we slept fine regardless! The shower entry is low, our friend in another room hit his head on it twice resulting in a bloody scrape. No iron in the room, no extra blanket in the room (we probably could’ve requested both but didn’t bother.) Monday’s the restaurant is closed which we found out when we asked if we needed a reservation ( “Well we are always closed in Monday’s!” I don’t know why they expected us to know this…) Despite the hotel needing a facelift I would go back, we had a lovely time!

The inn was super cute !! Loved our room and the area around the property, very historic. I took lots of pictures!! The restaurant 911 on the other hand was not at all what we expected. The food was mediocre and pricey. We do not recommend.

Charming building in a historic location. The room was small but comfortable enough. Breakfast was adequate, but not outstanding. Morning coffee was available, but again not great. Wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here again.

This property was the worse place I have ever stayed at. Left halfway into reservation it was so bad. Pictures online nothing like reality. Has not been updated since 1911. Not one positive thing I can say about the stay. Horrible. Stay anywhere else and would be better off.

This place is truly a local gem! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the entire stay feel warm and comfortable. I absolutely loved my time here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

It's a beautiful old building, but there are some issues. The room that we were in is in desperate need of a refresh. Plaster was showing through in the bathroom. The water pressure would drop out completely while taking a shower. There is no designated parking and we once had to park a block and a half away. The housekeeping staff (which appears to be one guy named Joe) couldn't get to our room for a refresh, even though we put the tag out all day long. Some positives and some negatives. The on-site restaurant is excellent, if you have reservations ahead.

Historic Inn that comes with some quirks that make it charming. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The 1911 restaurant was wonderful. Fine dining in a beautiful setting. The rooms are a little small, but expected in an inn of this type. Book a suite if you need more space. The mattress in our first room was too soft for us, but we were relocating to another room and had a wonderful stay.

The Terrace Inn has a beautiful terrace that you can sit at and look at the neighborhood and the bay. The restaurant has very good food and attentive service staff. It was an enjoyable stay.

It is a charming spot. I would go back. I think that the property could use a little sprucing up. I loved the terrace areas for both restaurants. I had a lovely welcome from Jill, who was navigating both check in and dinner reservations. She was delightful.
