The Cabin Had Issues
Pros:The view of the Smoky Mountains was absolutely beautiful, and the air conditioning worked great—both made the stay more comfortable.Cons:Unfortunately, the cabin had a number of issues. Many things were in disrepair or outdated. The Xplorie “free” benefits were misleading and not worth the mention. The gas grill was so loose it felt unsafe to use, so we didn’t. One of the more serious concerns was the flooring around the basement tub/shower—it was soft and spongy, likely from water damage. The cabin itself felt very dated, and every mattress was noisy and uncomfortable, with a plastic-like covering. After arriving, we were surprised to learn that none of the Bear Camp cabins have ice makers—something that would’ve been helpful to know ahead of time. We also couldn't unlock the door leading directly to the hot tub. On top of that, the bath towels provided were very thin and small, and the lighting throughout the cabin was poor, with several fixtures either flickering or not working at all.
