What a fabulous place, what a fantastic host. I would urge anybody wanting to stay here also mentions in their booking whether or not they require an evening meal. Those who don't will be disappointed as the Manager of the property (also incidentally an excellent chef!)told us unlike other hotels they don't keep stocks of food. The chateaux is quite isolated and we were really lucky and managed to eat there. There is also an honesty bar and an excellent wine list. The whole experience was simply wonderful, a perfect end to a lovely holiday.
A lovely short break. Ten minutes from the seaside. Staff very welcoming. Restaurant needed booking 24 hours in advance but host booked restaurant in nearby seaside resorts for the evenings. Hotel on the tourist steam train around Baie de la Somme. National train line to Amiens. Easy access to coast and battlefields. Good cycle tracks, nature reserves, bird watching. Rooms spacious but nowhere to store clothes! Honesty bar in lounge for drinks including a variety of teas. Tv lounge - no TVs in room or tea making facilities.
About 1 hour's drive from Calais (eurotunnel) and close to the coast, this hotel is very well located. We got a free upgrade as a better room was free. Breakfast was delicious. Have stayed twice and will come back.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Great potential, unrealised
Quaint old house with interesting features. Clean and tasteful - but service very limited for the price (basics like water, tissues, robes etc not provided/replaced) and atmosphere neglected (freezing cold communal areas; Xmas tree still there in late January and honesty bar with eclectic collection of spirits but no wine). A good breakfast was a redeeming feature.
Located in village with no cafe or restaurant and limited ability to provide evening meal - so 5K to nearest food. Local taxis very limited and very expensive as charge to attend as well as for the journey.
Local manager was friendly and very helpful - but this plus point is eclipsed by poor location and sense that the place has lost its heart.
A very thoughtfully restored chateau, with nice grounds and close to some nice places on the Baie de Somme. We were made to feel very welcome with our young baby.
We used the hotel as an over night stop on our way home from a week in Lower Normandy and found the hotel to be offer us a very relaxing evening. The hotel is a beautiful building with extensive, well maintained gardens; the staff were very helpful, trusting, and attentive who made us, and the dog, feel very welcome.
I reserved a room two weeks before my actual trip, the staff of hotel are very nice and helpful in finding out a local event schedule for me. The staff showed me around the hotel when I arrived, there is a mini bar, a library room and a dinning room where guests can stay and relax. The hotel is richly decorated with a number of interesting books, guidebooks and leaflets about local and regional tourist attractions.I stayed at the cottage which is separated from the main building. The room was large and comfortable although I could hear the noises when cars passed on the main road outside the hotel.
The hotel was very nice, but the service was terrible. On arriving we were giving keys to our room shown where it was and that was all! No this is where we serve breakfast nothing! We arrived for dinner and after a uncomfortable wait a wine list was thrust into our hands, we had to choose the wine even before we had decided what to eat. We were told no menu just two choices fish or ravioli we did not like either so t)e waitress who was dressed for a evening out at a disco (skimpy top and jeans) She said they had a duck terrine which we decided on but we wished we had not bothered straight out of the fridge and beyond tasteless. Then we had lamb which was just okay but fatty but the worst dish was overcooked smoked haddock which we were told was cod and salmon which was in some kind off liquid which I can only describe as luke warm colored water, with no taste. We decided to complain to the manager. But when he came over he just kept saying over and over again okay okay, we went to pay the next morning we were charged full price with not even a did you enjoy your stay nothing, a sorry you were not satisfied nothing what so ever!!

Interesting building, poor restaurant
The building is interesting with character and period furniture. The room on the top floor was slightly cramped and hot. The bed was comfortable and bathroom of a good size. There was no air conditioning, TV, dressing table, wardrobe ( only a hanging rail) or full length mirror. There was only one chair.
The resturant was a disaster. The young staff were causally dressed in jeans. There was no printed menu. The waitress told us what was on offer - only two choices per course - all ordinary. The mains on offer were duck and an unnamed fish. Having had no end of duck and fish during the previous 2 weeks we asked if we could have a steak. The chef offered us veal. It turned out to be braised and had been pre-cooked. It may even have come from a tin as had the mush of potatoes and mushrooms. It was all swimming in weak gravy. The dessert was thinly sliced pineapple from a tin or packet. It certainly wasn't fresh. The surprise comes when you check out - 35 euros per head. Possibly the worst value meal we have ever had.
There are many restaurants in St.Valery less than 10 minutes away. That must have been where most residents ate that night.

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
An elegant hotel
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We were the only guests on the first night and no one except us was at the hotel, not even the staff. We felt as if we were staying at our own little French chateau - surreal!!
The room allocated to us was on the 2nd floor and although it is full of characters it is basically an attic and is pretty dingy with two small windows. Considering we were the only guests we were a bit disappointed for not been given a room on the first floor which has a balcony and a lot brighter. Maybe guests who book the room through Expedia are all allocated to attic rooms?? The room was generally in good condition but the mirros are covered by dust so we had to clean it with tissue papers.
All in all it was an interesting experience.
Very beautiful grounds and building. Very hands off approach to guests. Great for privacy and luxury. Need to book evening meal when there are staff around in the afternoon. There is little else in Noyelles.
This is a hotel with plenty of character as you should expect in a chateaux. In the main the staff are charming and the service excellent, the only blip was on the day of our departure when the hotel's suppliers took priority over serving their customers and was confined to one individual member of staff. The hotel's extensive grounds are beautiful and a lovely place to relax, they also offer free use of bicycles which is a bonus as the surrounding countryside is flat and there is an extensive cycletrack around the baie. One word of warning, Noyelles is a very small village with little in the way of places to eat, especially in the evening. For a good choice of restaurants head to St Valerie a few kilometers away.
Beautiful Chateau! Room was very large & extremely comfortable. Serene setting including lovely gardens & outdoor seating. Freshly baked breads, croissants & pastries for breakfast were scrumptious. Staff were extremely friendly & couldn't do enough for you.
What a fabulous find! Beautiful setting, fabulous room, hospitable owner. We didn't get a chance to eat in the hotel as the restaurant is closed on a Sunday but the breakfast was very good. Very convenient for the channel ports - Channel Tunnel about one hours drive away.
Highly recommended.
The Chateau was lovely however the cleaners need to learn to turn on the vacuum as the room was far from clean.
We stayed for 3 nights and for 2 of these local idiots raced their 1litre Vauxhall novas up and down the main street that is right outside the hotel at 3-4am in the morning!
