A very good quality hotel. The Dunen is a modern hotel, so you don’t get old-world charm, but it’s tastefully done and very efficient. The rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast (taken at the Dona Gui restaurant, 50 metres down the street) is excellent, with cold and hot options. Recommended.
The hotel is located in a new development and you’ll need a car to get into the historical centre of Piranhas. If you don’t have one, don’t worry: there’s only one restaurant down there (Cachaçaria Altemar Dutra) but, despite the beautiful setting, the food there is dreadful. You’ll eat much better at the Dona Gui next to the Dunen (despite the uninspiring mall-like setting). The other option in the old town, Flor de Cactus, opens at lunchtime only!
