We loved the leisure center! The pool, spa, sauna, and gym were a great way to relax after a busy day traveling. The room was sizeable with plenty of space. The bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and the food was incredible.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The room was spacious but very dated. The room was poorly painted, and a approximative 30's decor on the wall. The bathroom was clean like the rest of the bedroom but in serious need of updating to today standards (shower head awful and leaky, floor old fashioned and no personality)
The staff wasn't friendly and useless. They did not offer to show us the way to the pool and were not at the desk when we arrived. Barely had a goodbye when I dropped the key off at check out.
OK for a night on a longer trip but I would not stay more than one night. Shame as the setting and the building has a lot of character in a lovely town.
I thought the hotel building was an excellent example of Victorian hospitality, however, there were parts with were beginning to look a little worn, some carpets were wearing quite badly, but overall we loved the size of the room and the lovely bed.
Large, comfortable hotel. Helpful staff, spacious room, good food

The rooms are old and VERY noisy, we could hear the music all night because the door doesn’t fit the frame. While sitting in the bar/lounge area, without asking, the lady behind the bar switched the television next to our seats to the loudest level possible, chasing almost all guest to the far end of the area. Hydro must stand for Water Damage: the floor part to the bathroom moved while walking over - you could feel which plank was affected by moisture -
Friendly staff on reception and in the restaurant. The food was tasty at the evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant. Bedroom was of a fair size and had all the amenities you needed, however mattress was very soft and uncomfortable. We both woke up with aching backs the next morning. Carpet needs replacing on stairs as is pretty worn in places and dangerous.
Breakfast first class, staff really good but there can be a language barrier unfortunately. Bar menu very good but very expensive as the drinks are!! We went to book into the restaurant for our anniversary meal, the staff kindly let us see the menu for Saturday night, but there was very little choice and unfortunately no prices were displayed on the menu, the bar menu had more choice. The entertainment on the Saturday night was meant to start at 8pm, we wrnt down at 7.30pm to get a goid
Pros - Nice comfortable room. Enjoyed the pool. Excellent communication before and during our stay. Friendly staff.
Cons - no EV chargers. No stand for cases in the room. Addition of plant based milk for tea and coffee in the room would be nice.
The Hydro is a grand looking building from the outside, but inside looks quite tired and in desperate need of an overhaul. The bedroom we had felt very dated and aside from stained carpets, the woodwork has been badly painted and left many of the sash & case windows painted shut. We only stayed for one night so not a huge issue, but the hotel definitely needs revamped. Personally, for the money we paid, we wouldn't book it again, or recommend it to others.
Very good breakfast and convenient location easily walkable to the town centre and all its facilities.
Pitlochry is a lovely place with good restaurants and surrounded by gorgeous countryside.
