We had a great experience at the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun. The food quality at both the buffet and restaurants was excellent. We tried 9 out of the 12 restaurants, and all of them were fantastic. The breakfast and lunch buffets were also very good. I would rate the food overall 9/10. There were just a few small things that kept me from giving it a perfect score—for example, no straws at restaurants and bars, no honey or jams available at breakfast, and a limited selection of meats and seafood at lunch. Our room was very clean, and the bed was fairly comfortable—I’d give it an 8/10. The only real issue we had was with room service. The wait time was very long—almost an hour each time just to get simple things like water or a blanket (we didn’t order food). I would rate the room service 6/10. The beach was fine, though I can’t really judge it fairly because it was sargassum season. The pools and waterparks, however, were awesome and a highlight of our trip. Overall, we had a very good experience, not only because of the hotel itself but also because of the outstanding service we received from the Expedia team. I especially want to thank Eduardo, who helped make our vacation even more special. I’ve stayed at many luxury resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean—most of them more expensive than this one. Despite a few minor flaws, this hotel can easily compete with them—if not surpass them in some areas.

So me and the family had a great time. This hotel is great for families with kids. Not saying if you’re a couple you shouldn’t stay but I feel there are other resorts that will cater more to couples. Johnathan who was our Expedia rep was amazing. He really cared and catered to our needs. Who needs diamond when you have Expedia VIP. The food options and quality and taste of food was great. Yes of course something’s aren’t great but it’s an all-inclusive that’s the norm. The resort is very nice and well maintained. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is one because the beach which was terrible and you can not get in. But that’s not their fault. Also a rep from the hotel concierge his name was Carlos he started saying he would take us to the Expedia check-in but the most he have told me he had a free gift for us like 20 times. I quickly figured out he was trying to get me to do diamond. Very off putting when what you want to do is get right to enjoying your vacation. Just be upfront and honest. He stayed waiting until we were checked in. And I pretty much told him to go fly a kite I don’t need anything and wanted to go to my room. Also I would suggest they put a sign letting you know you have to check in somewhere else since you booked with Expedia so you don’t wait in the regular check in like I did and wasted valuable time. In all I would stay here again just not in July because of the beach.

There is a lot of entertainment at all times, really family friendly, the kids will have a good time. I did not like the drinks at the bar and not from a lack of effort from the employees but a lack of quality on the ingredients, mix drinks were very bad quality specially the lime margarita, and the water taste and quality also bad so it gave all the drinks a bad taste as well.

The restaurants had multiple selections, which is great for families. The properties laid out very good so it’s very convenient to walk from anywhere to your room by booking with Expedia. We got to check in very quickly at a special counter. I would recommend this property and we will be returning next year to the same property.

The hotel was very noisy for 2 days in a row. I couldn’t get any sleep because of the construction that was taking place right next door to me. I would never stay at this hotel again in my life!
