Ponta Delgada Calheta Downtown

Overall the apartment was very clean and had almost everything we needed. The pillows and mattress were not super comfortable, but the rooms were great! The downstairs neighbour was very nice, but if you are looking forward to a quiet spot, the neighbourhood dogs and rooster might keep you up.

Lovely welcome basket filled with goodies. Good location within 10-15 minute enjoyable walking distance to the harbour and city gates. A small view of the ocean from balcony. Only downside is the loud and frequent barking episodes from neighbours dog.

Authentic space close to the ocean

Great, quaint apartment. Well equipped. Amazing patio where you could interact with the neighbours and see the ocean. The owners had a great map and a book of information that was so helpful for places to visit and places to eat. Only a few steps away from the walkway that goes all along the waterfront - really a great spot. Nice little market about a 3 minute walk away with bwryrhinf you would need. The one dog next door did bark a ton as people mentioned but if you spent time outdoors he got used to you and stopped and you couldn’t hear him through the night so not disruptive. And there is a stray cat that is just a sweetheart that visited us on the patio every day. We are not cat people - but would have taken her home in an instant if we could! Great communication and instructions by the owner, thank you!!!

An Oasis in Ponta Delgada

A wonderful apartment with great amenities. Beautiful roof top terrace overlooking the Atlantic. Conveniently located with ample parking on street or in the lot at the end of the street. Small but well appointed kitchen. The owners are extremely responsive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Fantastic stay

The property was very clean with a convenient location. Easy to get around the island from there. The hosts were very responsive if we had any questions. It is right in the city so as other reviews have said, if you are looking for total quiet it wont be here. Most of the neighbors have dogs, and there is certainly a rooster near by. But it didnt bother us and it was quiet there during the night, so it wasnt an issue at all! We enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again. Thanks to the hosts for a fantastic stay!

The ideal location & amenities

We absolutely loved our stay at Ana and Jorges’ place. It was exactly as described and the added plus was that it was minutes walking distance to two very quaint grocery stores that had everything we needed. Check-in was easy and check-out even easier. I did have one small question when we arrived and I received a response within the hour. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking to cook your own meals and have a cozy place to call home. The location was also perfect in relation to the airport. It was €12 each way with the local cab company. One day we rented a car and there is a public parking lot right by this VRBO so it was perfect. Ponta Delgada is the right place to stay if you want to have easy access to both sides of the island and this VRBO is minutes away from all the major throughways. 10/10 would stay again

location great, easy parking, check in and contact with host very good. Helpful guide in the apartment with activities and restaurant recommendations. Porch is very nice and comfortable for 3 people to hang out together in nice weather.

Great location for exploring Ponta Delgada.

Comfortable well kept space. 5-10 min walk to central part of Ponta Delgada’s restaurants, shops and sights. Easy to get to main roads for exploring the island. Just a minute or 2 walk to get to main walkway along the water. Clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the stay.

Wonderful flat to begin exploring Ponta Delgada

I just completed a fascinating 3 weeks in Ponta Delgada at the Calheta Suite apartment (which included a visit from my brother from NY). The apartment is lovely, really well situated only a half block from the waterfront and a five minute walk to the harbor where whale and dolphin watching tours depart. It feels surprisingly roomy for a small flat -- 2 bedrooms, 2 bath rooms, a small kitchen with 2 surprises, a washing machine and a small adjoining balcony from which you can hang your clothes out to dry AND view the Atlantic! The hosts were so friendly, and generously supplied many brochures about Ponta Delgada and Sao Miguel island, and some complementary bread and cheese and coffee. The backside apartment neighbors are also friendly, and one even raises poultry, so occasionally you can hear roosters crowing! I recommend you visit Ponta Delgada and stay at the Calheta Suite
