Located directly in the heart of Port Clyde, Dew Drop 2 Village Cottage is a charming coastal home just steps from the harbor, shops, dining, and village life. This is a true in-town stay, where the sidewalk loop, waterfront, playground, post office, church, and local favorites are right outside your door.
The property is a classic Maine cape that has been thoughtfully adapted into two separate residences. Dew Drop 2 is a private, self-contained unit with its own entrance, primarily set within a newer addition to the home, while portions of the kitchen and half bath remain within the original cape.
This cottage is best suited for one family or a couple looking for a relaxed and comfortable stay in the heart of the village.
Entering the cottage, you are welcomed into a bright great room with views of the harbor. French doors and windows across the front of the home bring in natural light and create an easy connection to the outdoors.
The living area includes a comfortable sectional sofa, cushioned seating, and a writing desk, making it a perfect place to read, write, or simply relax. A smart flat screen television with cable and streaming capability, along with books and games, adds to the comfort of the space.
The dining area includes seating for six, with views of the gardens and nearby playground.
The kitchen is efficiently designed and well equipped with a refrigerator, stove and oven, a compact dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, standard coffee maker, toaster, and blender. A stackable washer and dryer and a half bath are also located in this area.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. The first bedroom is the smaller of the two and includes a queen-sized bed, dresser, closet, bedside lamps, and a smart TV with cable. This room has windows facing the street and playground.
The full bathroom is located in the hallway and includes a tub and shower combination.
The second bedroom features a king bed, chaise lounge, nightstands with lamps, dresser, and a vaulted ceiling with clear ocean views overlooking the working waterfront.
A plug-in air conditioning unit is available on the second floor to provide added comfort during warmer summer days.
Outside, the property offers a large shared lawn that extends to the water’s edge. This unit has its own dedicated outdoor setup, including four Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, and an outdoor grill.
A small shared garage space is available for storing beach chairs, bicycles, or other personal items during your stay.
The lawn is ideal for relaxing, playing games, painting, reading, or simply watching the harbor activity. The setting offers views of the working waterfront, boats coming and going, changing coastal tides, and beautiful sunsets. It is not uncommon to see guests set up easels or spend time writing and creating.
This is a tidal waterfront property, and at low tide the water recedes to reveal the natural mud flats typical of the Maine shoreline. At high tide, the water returns and the harbor view changes again.
This property includes access to a shared boathouse on the water, offering an additional place to enjoy the waterfront setting.
Just down Co-op Road, you can purchase fresh lobster directly from local fishermen and bring it back to prepare at home.
As this is a shared property, guests may occasionally share the lawn and waterfront areas with guests staying in the adjacent unit. The home is located along Co-op Road, where you may hear early morning activity from local fishermen, along with the natural sounds of the nearby playground and village life.
This cottage is designed to be enjoyed year round. In the warmer months, the waterfront lawn, harbor activity, and village setting invite you outside. In fall, the landscape shifts with changing leaves and coastal light. In the colder months, the cottage becomes a quiet and cozy retreat, ideal for reading, writing, puzzles, games, or simply slowing down. Many guests enjoy spending holidays here.
Around the Fourth of July, you may see fireworks from the surrounding harbor area. These are typically set off by local residents and can appear in different directions across the water.
