Here’s a little bit about our hotel stay. We stayed for one night and the hotel staff was OK. The rooms were clean and the bed was very firm and comfortable. The rooms have blackout curtains, which is really nice and the rooms have balconies to sit on and there’s nature to look at lots of squirrels. Breakfast not very good. Decor outdated. Overall experience six out of 10. The place is OK. If you want to go to the dunes or the forest preserve, it’s within a short distance. The price is OK too. We got our room for around $200.

Disliked: Staff & service
Bugs are everywhere in the room. Spiders crawled on my son pillow, and one fell on my daughter. The area was nice except the service
Such a cozy lovely spot to spend the night. We felt welcomed at check in. The place is a bit dated but that really gives it the charm. Room was clean and comfortable. We used the warm pool and sauna, both were clean and comfortable.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Modest hotel that is in need of some updates. We were originally given a room on the first floor that absolutely reeked of mildew. To their credit, they switched rooms for us quickly. It is concerning that that room was an option at all.
Breakfast was a very basic. Pre packaged oatmeal, cereals, bagels, and waffles. There were eggs and sausage on the hot bar. There was a fridge with yogurt and milk. The coffee was weak. I didn't see any test at all.
The bed was comfortable, and that t really is what an overnight at a hotel is mostly for, right?
Very cozy and affordable stay! We liked the property a lot and were sad it was raining so we couldn’t enjoy as many of the outdoor amenities. Perfect stay for visiting Indiana Dunes National Park.
Very cute property. Close to the Dunes which was great.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
This was a very nice quiet place with nice scenery around it, but it was a little disappointing for the hot tub in my room to be out of service. Turkey sausages should be served at breakfast instead of pork because not everyone eat pork.
We liked the room at the end of the hall. The room was full of windows and chairs. We used the room quite a bit while at hotel. We also enjoyed the fire pit area. Breakfast area was clean, and spacious. Location worked out perfectly and it was nice to have UNO’s next door. Hotel had some areas that need upgrades (windows, doors). Hotel staff could have been more engaging. Overall experience was good.
The property is older but charming, nestled up against a wooded area. On each floor there's a sitting room at the end of the hallway with walls of windows on two sides, allowing a view of the woods, a river, and occasional wildlife. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are some minor things, like an alarm clock that couldn't be reset or no instructions on how to operate the TV, and one room didn't have a TV guide. In one room the door to the balcony didn't lock. The staff is friendly and eager to please, though not always reachable by phone from one's room. Still, overall I would highly recommend this place and will stay there again if I'm in the area. Very close to the Dunes and not far from downtown Chesterton!

I loved the rustic atmosphere and wooded setting. Friendly staff.
The front desk was so very friendly and the place was so clean! It is very close to one of Lake Michigans beaches. The continental breakfast was good and hot every morning. The indoor pool was warm and not freezing cold. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back soon!
The hotel was low to average quality. Trains are going through nearby and blowing horns audible in the rooms 24x7. Room 310 did not have a hair dryer and the front desk was not helpful in finding a spare or providing a solution (access to a different room that had a hair dryer). Pillows were hard and, although we had hiked all day, everyone in our party had a sleepless night due to discomfort of the beds. I will not stay here again and do not recommend.
This place was beautiful. It was a welcome change from the traditional chain hotels. The location was great for our stop at the Indiana Dunes Nat'l Park. We only stayed one night, but knowing now how nice and quaint it was, I wish I had booked it for 2 nights. It did have a restaurant in the same area. We weren't really impressed with our meals, but that's just more of a personal taste/preference. The restaurant is separate from the Inn so that isn't any negative reflection of the Inn itself. It was beautiful.
