The charming old town boasts many local shops whereas the commercial shopping center is home to two floors of the familiar big shopping names such as H&M and Zara. Portimão and the surrounding towns offer a stunning coastline of beautiful beaches, charming picturesque towns and great tourist facilities topped with almost perfect weather year-round.
You can link up with the main bus service to visit the eastern and western parts of the Algarve. But if you like exploring the surrounding area, we strongly recommend hiring a car. Parking is free at the apartment and in most areas of the Algarve.
The very popular Zoomarine park is just a 15-minute drive away in Guia. You will find two other water parks and the Lagos Zoo about 30 minutes by car from the house.

There is public transport available in the area and all around the Algarve. But buses and trains do not go very often and a (rental) car is recommended.
