Holiday Home 'Projektraum Obst und Sterne' with Private Terrace
The fire department garage is part of our project "Fruit and Stars": Rensow is located in the Mecklenburg Parkland and Star Park M-V. Due to the low light pollution, the view into the night sky is unclouded and a true star paradise. On our remaining farm in the village, we have created a meadow orchard on 0.5 hectares. In 2019 we have taken over the old fire station garage at the fire pond in Rensow and transformed it into a very special place!
The firehouse was upgraded and expanded while retaining its industrial character: On the first floor is the living area with kitchen block as well as bathroom and separate toilet. Via a tango staircase (Cave: The staircase is not suitable for people with walking disabilities!) the gallery with sleeping area is reached. A spacious, view-protected terrace adjoins the firehouse. During the reconstruction we almost exclusively used historical building materials from the village in order to preserve the rustic character of the fire station. From the fire station you have a direct view of the historic manor house and the park.
Important note:
As a converted fire station garage, the project room is essentially an industrial building.
Rough, uneven concrete walls and brick floors are not as easy to clean as woodchip and laminate flooring.
The fire station is located on a natural site with a fire pond. In the countryside, we regularly have flies, bumblebees and spiders visiting.
However, raccoons, deer and mice have to stay outside.
The project room is of course thoroughly cleaned before their arrival. However, for organisational reasons it is not always possible for us to carry out the cleaning on the day of their arrival - so it may happen that something has dribbled off the ceiling or wall in the meantime.
In this case, the hoover will be happy to help.
