Excellent aesthetics, but the staff could be more knowledgeable and onsite reservations booked very quickly, we should have booked before our arrival or they should make special accommodations for guests staying at the hotel. The layout of the hotel was a bit odd and confusing, getting to the beach was a little challenging, but overall beautiful hotel and excellent location on Kauai. Would stay again.

We will be back!

The hotel was absolutely stunning inside and out. The views were incredible and the staff was amazing! Every detail felt thoughtfully considered, making it an excellent place to stay. The only feedback I have is regarding dining. It would be nice to have more casual options onsite, especially during the week, without always needing a reservation at the two dinner restaurant options. Another suggestion would be to include certain water activities, like paddle boards, in the stay. For the price point, I was surprised these weren’t offered, especially since I’ve stayed at less luxurious hotels that included them as part of the experience. Aside from that, I have nothing negative to say. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back (budget permitting 😉).

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for about a week and while we were impressed by the spa/gym, our room, and hotel appearance, lots of basic aspects were lacking from our “5 star” experience. For reference, my wife has worked in the hospitality industry for years and we are writing this out of an opportunity for improvement and honesty, not to chastise the hotel. To start, we were offered valet parking under the presence of it being “complimentary” when in reality it was a daily charge we knew nothing about until our itemized check-out receipt. It was on us to ask, but when it’s branded as “complimentary” we felt confident assuming it was included in our cost. Second, while the hotel offers beautiful interior design that integrates the in and outdoors, we saw a large cockroach crawling the banister from the gym back to the elevators. We felt that was a bit too much to accept for a hotel of this caliber. Third, the service was okay, smiles were given in the hall and when a question was asked they answered in a polite tone, but again for a hotel looking to be “luxury” a certain amount of going-the-extra-mile and anticipation of needs is expected. Finally and the area with the most amount of opportunity was the food. There was a lack of options except for the breakfast brunch, and there was not a meal that we had at the hotel that outshined the meals we’d gotten from food trucks all around the island. When we ordered room service, it arrived with a smile but it was cold.

We stayed at this property, a number of times over the years in a numberof iterations of the hotel, and came there to celebrate our 10th anniversary and commemorate where I proposed to my wife. Unfortunately, this was the worst version of the hotel in terms of service. Most of staff new and had no idea of what one should receive at top dollar resort. it seemed like all they wanted was as much money as they could extract from us and the words gracious or attentive seldom came to mind during our stay. Still it's simply a beautiful location and a very nice hotel, but not a good value at all! Had we not had an attachment there we never would have stayed there.
